As someone with ADHD this is the most realistic advice for any hobby you're interested in EVER. That's just how it works.

@cevinwest

“Every single row is a new mission to unlock in your brain.”
That is my favourite line today. Thank you.

@jukeboxopossum1313

As someone who crochets regularly and also started with granny squares:
I made one granny square and didn’t pick up a crochet hook for two years
I made seven Bees in one weekend

@cooper197

Honestly this is good advice for anyone starting hobbies with adhd “start at a point in the hobby where you can obtain a thing at the end and if the hobby doesn’t allow that… don’t” I would be so much happier if I could do that.

@deltaloraine

The idea of having a little stuffed animal by the end of it is SO motivating

@HannahThompson-e8t

As an adhd crocheter, this is 1000% accurate! Stuffed animals are nearly all I crochet! (Winter hats are also an ok starting place)

@Snowspring09

Certified ADHD recommendation

@omavenable4712

She is 100percent correct. I started with making mini octopuses and they were really easy for me as a beginner.

@dulceloquens

This is so accurate. As someone with ADHD, the only crochet project I've ever finished was a stuffed animal

@MM-qj8ys

“it has EYES” shrugs “that’s cute”
is me describing a new crush I barely know

@LeftNamesNO

nervously glances over to the four squares I made 2 months ago

@mauricedorreboom5388

I love her method of communicating with us. It is honest, pure, unfiltered, unedited ... I believe her

@Delta9Church

ADHD and art is no joke. You really nailed it with getting 2 squares in and calling it a success. It was like you were describing my life. So visceral.

@MarcusMedomRyding

Yesss, loving the ADHD hobby advice, can this please be a genre

@mswolfy811

My mom literally made "unfinished" blankets because the cats liked to lay on them, and 1-2 squares is the perfect size for a cat blanket. The first one was actually cuz she started a blanket and the cat laid on it constantly so she just left that one and restarted with a slightly different pattern to leave the cat's tile unique

@dianavega6081

That's how I started. 😊 Woobles was a GREAT start for me. It had everything to get started, and it was easy to follow. Wish I could afford more of them.

@conUsagi

My adhd friend got into crocheting and the only thing she’s been making is bees, tiny squids, scarfs and hats for the bees it’s literally so adorable 😭

@arcaneafterhours

for christmas as a very beginner crocheter i made my entire family little blobs with eyes and ears. they loved them

@meenaharley

If I started granny squares, I’d feel the irrepressible urge to make every color combination with all the colors I own

@Nadia-Butterfly

I listen to her advice and started with amigurumi 😄
And the granny square scared me for a while, but then I tried them and they were easy because i already know how to do amigurumi
