Why is the video so saturated in red? Is that a post effect or an effect of the laser? And is it ionizing the air to appear visible or something else? And is the visibility purposeful? So many questions lol

It looks like the beam disperse a lot in a few ten's of yard or meters, i would say that it has an efectiv range of 100 up to 400 yards judging from this short video
