Sometimes it's the laptop's fault. It might don't support it. Just like my HP mini 110-3100, I tried to plug in my iPhone to sideload but it rejects it since the laptop blocks any device that aren't compatible or not banned by the manufacturer

Try to run crystal disk health check Ur hdd might be failing or dying Or try it on diff laptop if still not recognised..u need do a suface scan of disk for bad sectors on hdd. Mostly ur hdd is dying

U probably have 3.5 inch hdd which can't be powdered by this converter Get the 2.5 inch hdd
