Sleeping on the 3rd gen Dodge Rams. 2005 1500 owner. Beautiful "semi truck" grill, and its still on the road at 175k running strong with zero issues. Love my old truck. 👍

@ethanfreeman1099

I have an '06 WT Extended Cab with the baby 5.3, which is the 4.8 V8. The only issue is the 4L60E transmission, but they are in many Chevy vehicles to replace, or I could rebuild it when I need to. The transmission runs great, and I replaced the fluid at 100,000 miles at my tire shop. I also do not tow at all or rare to tow and only use the bed for work. I got it from my Grandpa at about 93,000 miles, and it has about 135,000 miles now. I just recently had to replace the rear main seal for a big oil leak. I also had to replace the instrument cluster at an auto electric shop. Not major issues to repair that is $2,000 or more. It is a Mississippi southern truck, so no to minimal rust. I love it for sure.

Bought recently a 2006 Chevy Cateye 1500 5.3 85k miles silver birch rust free Texas my new daily commuter truck feel good about my recent purchase thanks to this video.

@jessbigboss09

2010 4.6 3v ford f150 a 3k miles away to hit 200k still runs like a beast !

@elderleonel2966

Hey Ford Mechanic here.. if you want to save lots of money, don't even buy the F150 Eco-boost that's what you mainly see at the maintenance shops just saying 🤷🏻‍♂️

@14younge

I only subscribed cause you were so positive about the Silverado, my first truck was a 5.3 chevy!!!

@steakman9113

My bet for longetivity..
06/07 Duramax LBZ motor and little to none Emissions crap. With good maintenance… easily 500k miles.. my 06(Stolen in 2023) 629,000 Kms and ran clean .. replaced with an SLT 07 CCSB..505,000kns.

Solid, lots of power and a towing beast for $16,000 CAD. HARD to beat that !!

@valeriepickens2533

Loved the list, but I had to go outside your advice on this one.
I just picked up a 1974 Chevy Suburban K20 4x4 for 2 grand!
Yes,...it runs and drives like new and has a title.
Thanks for the advice anyways.

@jerad4336

The 2010-2021 Toyota Tundras are well made trucks and you can expect 400k miles.

@LeBrownGuy

Never in my 30 years living here in Florida have I heard someone say "why would I need a 4wd here in FL" lol. Most people here have 4X4

@0159ralph

My 2019 ram 4th gen has the 5.7 and the German made ZF 8 speed transmission under the hood. The truck has been flawless so far. What sold me on the the ram was the power train. The interior also was part of it. I traded my 2004 Nissan titan for it, and that truck ran good but it had paint and interior issues. I almost brought a Nissan XD with the Cummings 5.0, but elected for ram. The rams tow rating was almost as strong as the XD. But those of use the brought an older truck with a V8, no matter it a GM, Ram, Ford, Chevy and Toyota we're real lucky to have an V8. These new models wont have a V8, and these turbo charged 6 bangers will have some issues for the first couple of years and may not last as long as a V8. Also the EVs are for suckers....

@Wicked_RotF30

I have multiple vehicles. The last vehicle my father inspected for me was a 2001 crew cab F150 4x4 with the 4.6L engine. It needed some work. A new rear end and fuel tank. He died shortly after the work was completed. I ended up losing the truck in a stupid title pawn for pennies on the dollar that i shouldnt have done. I still have my 96 K1500 that my father put together for me. I later picked up an 05 Suburban Z71 4x4 and 07 Yukon 4x4 for under $5k combined. I think it’s best i not buy any personal vehicles for a while and build up my piggy bank, to invest in my businesses(I need to buy a semi truck)

@davehazekamp3520

2014 2500 4x4 crew cab 6.0 is great no problems

Still driving a 2007 Chevy Silverado. But after living in snow for years and the South Coastal for years it has finally just about given out due to rust. Currently looking for another truck to buy. used. Thanks for the info.

@TonyAdkins-dx5kt

You messed up. I own a 2012 titan with 233k. BEST vehicle i have ever owned. And i have had all the big 3 throughout the years...

@cornpopsrevenge1891

I own a 17 silverado the transmissions in these truck both the 8 speed and six speed are horrible. Everyone I know with these models have had to replace them with less than 100,000 miles.

@Boguardis

There are some really good reasons why you don't need 4x4. If you never go off road and you need max towing, 2wd is always going to tow better than 4wd.
