The house you were shocked breaking into was my house. I literally bought my house in 2000 (2 acres) and had a suit knock on the door about a year later. A detective who visited every few years because it's still an open case when the previous owner's wife disappeared in 1983. He didn't know the owner had moved away. Couple years later the Detective visits again and asks if he could have a K9 unit come and search the property. It was in the area and they like to utilize the dog as much as possible. Tells us a helicopter will fly over the area surveying a few days before. Wife calls me at work, "Helicopter flew over." "Oh, how was that?" "Oh just a chopper with POLICE hugely written on the side circled the house at tree top level 3 times." Quite a spectacle for the neighbors, LOL. 2 days later I have the Detective's car, 2 State patrol cars in the driveway with 2 patrol cars and a K9 van on the road in front and a cadaver dog walking the property with State troopers all over the place.

They didn't find anything. 17 years I lived there and every time I tilled up a new section of garden was the same thing. I walked into the house to the wife, "didn't find her." She would be 95 years old now.

"Doris Stalker, of Hilliards, PA, Washington Township, Butler County, was last seen on Monday, November 28, 1983 in the parking lot of an Emlenton, PA supermarket. Mrs. Stalker and her husband had reportedly driven to a pharmacy in Mariasville, PA to have a prescription filled but found that the pharmacy was closed. They then rode over to the (former) Super Duper market in Emlenton, PA. Mr. Stalker went into the store while Doris waited in the car. Mr. Stalker said that he was only gone for six or seven minutes. When he returned to the car, at around 8:00 PM, the passenger side door of the car was open, and Doris was gone. Her purse was still in the car. The following day, state police, volunteer firefighters and bloodhounds searched the area around the supermarket and scuba divers searched the nearby Allegheny River, but no trace of Doris was found."
