@DataDudeSongs

If using pex, why not use pex expansion fittings or crimp fittings instead?

@betterhandmade3091

Im a plumber from Germany. If you want to use sharkbites,do it where you can easy access if you need to. Would still not advise the use of sharkbites. If i knew i had them in my system i could not sleep at night. I like people doing their plumbing on their own and i understand that presstools are expensive. But you can also solder with a cheap burner, some flux and solder. Im pretty sure that would hold waaaay longer. No hate thoe .Do what you like

The thing with new styles of fittings are that they were not field tested for years of use, yes they work but there's a reason why they tell you not to use shark bite in school.. keep it in accessible locations in case it leaks. I would not use these for an entire rough in. Temporary repairs only.

@pdan3676

Stop telling lies. From the very begining of this type of connector designs, Sharkbite and quick connectors were rated 200 PSI or more. All home pressures regulated around 50-70 PSI, therefore, never, at any time, these quick connectors rated the same PSI. I did a quick fixed using quick connectors on my house over 14 years ago and too lazy to replace it with sweat fittings. It's still holding. Also, this is PEX B, not PEX A.

@drainjunkies

I do plumbing in Baltimore city and when it gets cold out I get so many calls for leaks and it’s the shark bite that blew apart and the rubber o ring and or the connection failed. They do not work in the cold meaning below freezing for the most part or underground but that’s given never bury shark bites .

@jamescooper4108

We use compression / crimp for our pex connections that we deal with on daily basis… seems much more reliable shark bites can easily fail and cause a lot of damage if not done properly

@lohengrinknight

The idea is not to use elbows. Instead, get the corner benders that help with that. Make the fewest cuts possible. That's the whole premise of pex: not to make so many cuts.

@johnmcguire5594

I've been using them for a long time. I like to Mark the depth as well. It's about an inch that way. I know I have it all the way on. Cuz that deburr you have I like that

@joels1234

I replaced my washer box in the wall with these....nice and easy.... I'm old...things have improved a lot...lol...

@samhigger467

The amount of these I had had to cut out after flooding a house would blow your mind. They work… temporarily

@plumberboy223

That's new, dry, more than accessible hot amd cold lines. Why would you choose a shark bite fitting over a crimp fitting?

@DanielRusterholz

The hell you deburing a pex pipe for

@Anyoneyt691

Just buy some expansion fittings. No restrictions and you can get 100 for the price of them 2 shark bites.

@am3rikan84

So sharkbite came out with a MAX fitting lol

@evergreen4034

You don’t de-burr pex, do you? If this is for homeowners we gotta specify or they’ll be running a reamer around that pex until theirs nothing left

@reese3407

What a bad idea, keep using pex!!! 😮

@teflondon2035
