Statements like, 'I design websites that help businesses increase their yearly revenue', I personally stay away from. I don't sell SEO, I sell websites. A website won't leave my desk until it has all the foundations to organically grow in SERPs. That said, if the client puts no effort into getting their website out there, it can take a long time in a saturated market for them to see the benefits of the SEO foundations that I've put in place.

I did a mentorship with a web designer who taught the method for selling more expensive websites, and the first thing he told me was: "Choose a niche and offer services only for that niche."
That's what I did, and I focused solely on web design for wineries and the wine industry. The surprise was that after three months of sending cold emails and cold prospecting, I was stood up after three calls; one almost told me to fuck off, the answers were so bad. Then I spoke with a sales mentor, and he told me my problem was choosing a niche that didn't even require web design services, since they're very traditional. He recommended I start over and offer my services to any industry that needs them, and then, from there, study which market really needs web design services.
Right now, I'm changing all my communications and website. What do you think about that?
