@TechLead

Hey, let me know if you want to talk. I'm not sure if I've ever really had depression since my family has always helped me through anything, but I'd imagine you might try to refresh yourself - go for a long jog, take a daytrip, watch a movie, play a video game, or socialize. You might think life is bad, but it could be worse, and it may even lead to better things. No one has all the answers, take it one step a time, and try to enjoy the journey.

@SirajRaval

Hey, we haven't chatted before but I'm here for you. Youtube creator burnout is real, the algorithm is merciless and often rewards frequency over quality. Take time to relax and keep your head up :)

@jarvis

Hey man, I've been there. It gets better, I promise. Make sure to take all the time you need and get all the help you need. Talk to friends, family and remind yourself we're all just doing our best out here and getting help is a sign of strength, not weakness. I'm here if you need me as always <3

@fahadhayat110

Little does he know how much he inspires us! We love what you do Joma!

@CSDojo

Hey Joma, I just wanted to tell you I've been there too.

I totally agree with Jarvis-- you should get all the time and all the help you need. I think taking a long rest sometime helps, but it is also true that (like you said) sometimes it's hard to get back into the routine. I've found that making just one video helps, though.

I also used to manage my job and my channel at the same time, and it was really hard for me too.

Anyway, I hope you'll feel better soon. Let me know if you want someone to chat with, too-- I think you have my email address :)

@LetsBuildThatApp

Let me just chime in briefly with my journey on youtube, maybe it'll help a little here.
When I started out, I was chasing stats every day. Whether it be views, watch time, subs, all of it I was monitoring almost every few minutes. After about 2 years, I started looking at these numbers less and less as the business side of things took over. Nowadays, I honestly don't even look at youtube stats or social blade anymore because they are so insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
Having said that, I realize that its takes a while to reach this point of online content creation. What really helps is that I've declined 100% of sponsored content, creating only what I want to make. The business and platform I now own serves my audience much better than youtube, which I'm very fortunate and lucky to have stumbled upon.
If you don't have an exit strategy and are constantly chasing youtube stats, you'll find that there is no finish line in sight. Ultimately, this could possibly be the root of a lot of the stress you're feeling. Good luck and feel free to reach out if you need.

@ron-davin

Hope you feel better man. You're an inspiration.

@tibees

Hope to see you on the other side of this slump soon 📈

@sherrybyw

Love that you're opening up about this Joma. Don't force yourself to make videos if you're not in a state where you can!

@brilliantblush

@matinr3528

Don't be mad at yourself. Life is really hard sometimes. Just have to be patient and believe that things will get better.

@SaintDre

Currently going through the same but talking to love ones and taking a break has definitely helped. I feel better than I did when it first started so I recommend halting everything and take a break or vacation. It resets the mind and exercising helps cope as well but keep in mind not to pressure yourself with work and only focus on today's problems and not tomorrow's. Much love and get well!

@jamhernandezquiceno1972

Joma you shouldn't doubt yourself, if something you are an inspiration for most us. Take your time to take care of your mental health, we will support you. You are strong, smart and loyal! You got this bro.

@yuinagare5783

Joma I miss you, it’s been 4 months but I’ll stay put and wait!

@GilletteGaming

Good luck, Joma. I've been in/am in the same state you are currently and it's miserable. Burn out from work is brutal (#startuplife) and can definitely have a massively negative affect on the rest of your life.

I started really letting go of things outside of work and began to treat them as "fun" rather than "projects" and it has helped a little bit. I've found it becomes easier to cope if there's one thing to focus your brain on rather than being split between so many things, no matter how fun they are, but that obviously comes along with it's own difficulties and downward spiral of feeling like ass because now the things I was doing well are now being "half-assed" as far as I can tell.

I really hope you feel better, and I'll be paying close attention to your journey with this in hopes that it can help out others (like myself) as well. <3

@XxGearx

It is super common for people with depression to not want to say they have it because of all the negative stigma around it which is really sad. There are varying levels of depression and they classify it as something that negatively effects your day to day functions which you clearly describe in this video. Even though you are going through depression you do not have to let that define you and many times depression comes and goes based on circumstances in your life. The most important thing you can do is make sure you get the support and help you need to get through it at that time. I read some of the comments and it seems like the community is mostly supportive which is great. Make sure you do things that bring you joy reconnect with your family and friends make sure they are aware so they can support you through it. Reduce your stress because that seems to be a key to what you describe. Also if it gets worse as a result of this or doesn't get better after a couple of weeks I would make sure to see someone that is trained in this because there are many treatments to depression and not all of them include medicine. My hopes are with you and I really hope you beat this and come out on the other side enlightened <3
