I see sharp glossy visual changes
This explains migrain excellently ... Thank you very much.
Sir, You are genius.....I'm from India and want to talk with you for it.
I've been struggling with this for 3 months.
I have a unique condition nobody can explain to me, I'm guessing Dr. Lee would know. I have photophobia, I have to wear digital block glasses all the time or else I develop a migraine. When I'm encountered with an intense amount of light, usually peripheral, something strange occurs. My head feels pressurized, my voice changes (I clear my throat), I get slightly brain fogged, and I can use the Valsalva maneuver to pop my ears. I have never been able to explain the connect of light to mid-ear/Eustachian tube issues. I've always assumed that the light sensitivity somehow inflames my brain, which increases the pressure, which then causes my Eustachian tube to close.
I got the scintillating scotoma today (transient, not persistent) for the first time. All my symptoms match (shape, duration, movement, etc) but I've never had a migraine and no headache followed it. Just the aura, happened right after waking up, started with a small line grew larger and expanded out of the vision range until it was gone. Then an hour later, it happened again, went away in 20 minutes, gone and didn't return. Very scary but after reading about it I feel a lot better - however I am not getting migraines/headaches so I'm a little concerned over that
I didn’t catch what you said about the visual field?
Thank you for the explanation. I've had increased scintillating scotoma recently, 3 this month already. I've told my Doc & Optician, but should I be asking for investigations?
I’m confused that you say the scintillating scotoma is bilateral. I don’t get the migraine, but I do get this scotoma, but only ever unilaterally
Mine will be in one eye only and I generally wake up with it and it can last a week or longer and diminish a bit, but never fully goes away. Pretty annoying. If the lights stay long enough they become small permanent blind spots. I gave up on trying to figure it out since the doctors had no clue either and they ended up diagnosing me with persistent migraine aura. Is that what it is? No clue
This is me, I've had persistent aura for six months and noone has been able to diagnose or treat it. can you recommend a treatment?
Can MS also cause persistent aura? With frequent complex migraine that affects the head face and body? Do you work in la? Is there anyway to see you even virtually?
Hello doctors..........now I am 31 years old and at the age of 4 years, I have got a head injury(at occipital lobe)in the back side and from then I suffered with Migrain with aura(intense headache and visual disturbance) and Alice in Wonderland syndrome (AIWS with smaller size appearance of objects).....At the early age, I can't recognise these names properly but now I know about that confirmly......but At present time my main problem is related with visual disturbance.....for it I have done many types of check ups of my eyes....but there is no issue in eyes......because it is related from brain function, so my question is how to correct it now at the age of 31 years and solve my eyes problem related with brain function now, please advise and suggest a clear view about it, 🙏
Hi, I'm from brazil. I have had persistent migraine aura since I was 14 years old, today I am 36 years old. It was only a year ago that I received the diagnosis. Since then I started taking the medicine Lamotrigine and then Diamox, but neither had any effect on the aura. Has anyone had any positive responses?
