Excellent! Jet Magazine every week will post "Yesteryear In Black History" and talk about black investors and their invention. Jet Magazine gave us knowledge of Black investors in the 1970's. Excellent video!

@Mr.unknown-n132

The first traffic light was invented by J.P. Knight, a British railway engineer, in 1868. It was a manually operated gas-lit signal installed near the Houses of Parliament in London. Unfortunately, it exploded shortly after installation, injuring the policeman operating it.

The first electric traffic light was invented by James Hoge and installed in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1914. It used red and green lights and was manually controlled by a police officer.

So, in short:

1868: J.P. Knight (gas-powered, UK)

1914: James Hoge (electric, USA)

Want the evolution after that too?

@VesperJester

When you mentioned George Washington Carver you should’ve mentioned how he created biochemistry or chemurgy. He’s the father of that.
