First!!! Good to have the comments turned on. We promise to behave lol

@ilovelimpfries

I seldom get opportunity to express that If You're Listening series is an outstanding piece of journalism. I might not always agree with them, but I always appreciate the differing viewpoints. The key is letting the viewers form their own opinions rather than be a sheep to mass media narratives.

@r-labs9357

Thank you for keeping the comment section open

@neiljenman3111

You’re a truly good and decent man, Matt Bevan.

Virtual town squares have more village idiots per capita than the bricks and mortar type

@petemellows

It takes a bit to pull yourself out, but after a while you really won't want to go back.
I left Twitter as soon as it was rebranded, and Facebook at the start of 2025.
I'm happy with Bluesky right now because it does feel much more respectable (except for the odd comment).

@estellebright2579

Here is the kicker: freedom of speech has its limits, just like everything else. America is introducing their own version of freedom of speech that supports their agenda, and so does Australia. Platforms are caught in the crossfire, but it seems that they pro American view more than Australian view. Is it time for Australia to develop their own alternative to X, YouTube, facebook, Instagram and so on? Nothing really would stop us from doing so.

@axio3d143

Thanks Matt, i'm glad you have comments turned on. Just so I can tell you it's refreshing to watch good journalism.

@bleu209

Well done. A lot to think about

@shelleyt4113

Great video ABC

@Tickleme3090

Great reporting thank you. A very important message, thank you.

@zakman246

Great video

@RealRockman900

Wait, we can comment?
Is there any international collaboration possible? The EU is usually quite keen on on protecting their citizens. An Aus-NZ-CAN-EU international alliance against the techbro's would be quite powerful to compel them.
Also, I'm all for a public owned "social network", take money out of the equation.

@Hyperbole3889

America's death tax can be up to 60% so whatever.

@Mcfreddo

Haha, well it didn't work!

@jinnaboy

Hi ABC, cool content but can we not....have the pokimane like streamer bedroom lighting?

@caminho7340

doing newy proud

@ilikevines

You can't violate free speech principles because some people who occupy the town square have unpleasant views. Plenty of people find opposing views unpleasant to them, it's too arbitrary a standard and will be prone to the personal biases of whoever holds the power at the time.

@EverythingCameFromNothing

We need a town square where only those whose identity is verified is allowed so all contributors posts are held accountable

@frankiedehockie

Free Speech needs to be regulated. Especially in these days.
