Don't bet your kid's college tuition on Elons predictions.
Yeah, sure, end of next year every year.
It sounded like the interviewer was careful to confirm what Elon was saying because he was somewhat stunned by what Elon predicting.
The next question from the interviewer goes something like … But you said the same thing in 2019”
You can just tack his statement on to the end of these he has made: Elon Musk... 2013 "A Tesla car next year will probably be 90-percent capable of autopilot. Like, so 90 percent of your miles can be on auto. For sure highway travel." 2014 "We should be able to do 90 percent of miles driven [autonomously] within three years." 2015 "From a technology standpoint, Tesla will have a car that can do full autonomy in about three years, maybe a bit sooner." 2016 "I consider autonomous driving to be a basically solved problem." 2017 "November or December of this year, we should be able to go from a parking lot in California to a parking lot in New York, no controls touched at any point during the entire journey." 2018 "You know, I think we'll get to full self-driving next year." 2019 "I think we will be feature complete -- full self-driving -- this year, meaning the car will be able to find you in a parking lot, pick you up and take you all the way to your destination without an intervention, this year. I would say I am of certain of that. That is not a question mark." 2020 "[Robotaxi] functionality still looking good for this year. Regulatory approval is the big unknown." 2021 "And it's now actually more -- it's more common than not for the car to have no interventions, even on a complex drive. So -- and this is -- basically I'm highly confident the car will drive itself for the reliability in excess of a human this year. This is a very big deal." 2022 "The two technologies I am focused on, trying to ideally get done before the end of the year, are getting our Starship into orbit ... and then having Tesla cars to be able to do self-driving." 2023 "I mean, it does look like [full autonomy is] gonna happen this year." 2024 "We do expect actually to start fully autonomous, unsupervised FSD in Texas and California next year." 2025 "The acid test is, can you go to sleep in your car and wake up in your destination and I'm confident that will be available in many cities in the US by the end of this year."
Here’s a question — “You have repeatedly claimed full self-driving is 12 months away, claims that have consistently failed to materialise. Given these statements boost investor interest but not consumer reality, do you acknowledge this pattern undermines your credibility? More importantly, what specific accountability do you accept for making public claims that repeatedly prove false? Or in your own words…is that morally right to you?”
I bought XAI28P listening to your advice! Thank you!
Oh another Elon prediction that doesn't happen.
Lets look back at his 2019 wild unachieved predictions for just a minute
Just saw your videos and bought XAI28P yesterday.....its up 24% today talk about timing......Thanks
Interviewer was stumbling over himself to try and make it seem more reasonable. lol even he was baffled
Waymo is far ahead of Tesla. With much better PR
It’s always a ‘prediction’. Auto manufacturing CEOs don’t typically use that word to describe their near term products. They might estimate or plan. And because he uses that word he can slip out of any responsibility when he misses his ridiculous claims. Journalists need to ask him what he plans. What he promises. And then hold him responsible when he makes further wishes upon a star. Predictions are for Astrologers.
False promises and fraud 😂 they should be sued for false advertisement
Gotta love this guy 👏
He was extremely specific about it not being level 4.
The only other person who exaggerates with such confidence is his father, it's in the blood
If I had a dime every time FElon said “Next Year” I would be rich
Just swapped all of my last ETH and swapped it into XAI28P. Already up a little bit. Unfortunately I have some other junk staked which won’t free up for a while. Still now I am on the train!
