After wrapping up this video, I’ve concluded to spend my 70 on a new controller! Thank you! The guild is beautiful just hella work lol
I did all of this. And now my right thumb stick makes the tiniest clicking sound when I use it, but it fixed the drift. I didn’t think it was gonna work after I had it back together and heard that sound. A little annoying, but no drift. Thanks a LOT.
I have ZERO electronic experience. I followed this guide to disassemble my controller and fix the button sticking issue, and had it done and fixed within an hour. You're awesome.
My boyfriend has been complaining about his worsening stick drift for over three months. I finally reached a breaking point and this video was a perfect demonstrational guide to take it apart and clean it up. He trusted me cause I was able to fix my PS4 controller and now it's totally working and we can play games together until his dad gets his new one for Xmas. There was so much cat hair XD
I began experiencing stick drift about a week ago and i saw all these tutorials where you had to flick the joysticks up and down and a bunch of that stuff and it didnt work. I was beginning to get desperate until i found this video with clear instructions. Thank you so much for this, you helped me get rid of my problem and helped me save 70€. THANK YOU!!!!
I did everything as followed and broke like 2 pieces because I'm impatient and uncareful, it miraculously worked and the stick drift has been reduced by 90%. Enough to play games properly again. Thanks for the in-depth tutorial.
Sony: How hard should we make it to fix a common issue? Sony: Yes.
the fact that the controller was designed in a way that requires you to open it up fully and amount almost all connectors to access the singlest and most common point of failure for controllers is so goddamn enraging
Honestly, a lot of people are saying its tedious or enraging to fix a PS5 controller with stick drift, but i honestly found it fun. Thank you for the tutorial!
Whenever I take stuff apart like this always feels like I'm doing surgery lol
Thank you. I cleaned my son's stick drift with this video. We tried the reset/resinc to no success. This did the trick, bravo.
so my controller i've had for a couple weeks for started getting absolutely atrocious right stick drift, it would turn to the left and it was unplayable. if youve ever played r6 siege you know how sensitive that game can be. finally i got fed up and started searching up and found the countless videos of people saying "blow into the controller" or other crappy ways to temporarily fix your controller i stumbled across this one. at first me being only 16 with no electrical experience whatsoever and seeing you open up the innards of a controller made me questioning my chances of tearing up my controller and having to waste 70 bucks on a new one. 30 minutes later my controller is brand new. you are an angel.
First time doing a teardown on a DualSense and your video tutorial was extremely helpful, the fact that your video is calm and quiet helps the viewer to be patient too while taking apart the PS5 Controller. And yeah, I fixed the drift problem after using a bit of tweezers with a bit of cotton with alcohol on the tip and cleanning gently the horizontal left sensor or whatever it is called hahaha. tysm!
I watch a lot of repair videos (I own a repair shop) and this may be the most well done one I've ever watched
My controller had been drifting for over a year and with this video, it’s all fixed now! Thank you so much for the detailed video I appreciate it man
I have my ps2 controller to this day..never had any issues. Bought ps4 and ps5..and I have stickdrift within 3 days. It's just sad..you pay all this money just for more problems
When I first watched this I thought I could never do it. But after spending 20 bucks on Amazon for a full screwdriver kit, foam swabs, and plastic prying tools, I just now finished up fixing my drifting controller and so far no more ghost inputs or drift. Thank you so much
I love being informed that I need specialized tools several minutes into the breakdown.
Literally followed all the things done in this video and was able to fix my stick drift. A nice reminder would be to place ribbon wires the way they're supposed to be. Best tutorial video out here in YouTube.
