Just imagine a Britain with Caroline as PM a great and proud nation with hope and direction once again

@MikeBarrie1

I think this is the most sensible talk on Brexit I've heard in over three years! Well done Caroline Lucas, and please keep on giving us hope for the future in these dark times. We need leaders like you!

@williamc9578

I haven't heard a more thoughtful, considered, transparent speech on the UK's relationship with the EU, and a reasoned assessment of what ails Britain that precipitated BREXIT, than Caroline Lucas'. If Westminster have several more Caroline Lucases across the various parties, and equally, some backbone and courage to call out the Rees-Moggs, Boris Johnsons, Nigel Farages on their duplicity, incompetence, dishonesty, contemptible cowardice, Britain would be a much better place.

@ianclose

I am not a Green at all, but she would be a wonderful PM!

@ashtart1744

Sensible and not ideological speech. When the message is addressed directly to people with sincerity, it is hardly despised.

@robertwhitfield7065

Great speech. If we get a People's Vote we must make sure that her approach to the campaign is the one we follow.

@TaliBradley

All my respect Caroline Lucas.

@LL-vk9zc

Oops, Caroline - the GPO is in Dublin, not Belfast.

@squareinsquare2078

Caroline Lucas is absolutely brilliant.

@trishtraynor

We don't have a democracy in Westmonster. First past the post means millions of people being ignored.

@julienazerali6590

brilliant - thank you !

@martinallan5331

You have my vote, well put Caroline Lucas.

@frze5645

Carolyn Lucas makes big of the fact that or democratic system needs to be reformed so that everybody’s vote counts - and then goes on to say - we must now have a second referendum. You cannot get a better democratic system than a referendum with a clear choice as was the leave/remain referendum - but somehow in Carolyn’s twisted sense of ‘democracy’ this shouldn’t can’t because one side got it wrong.

@MrsSedley

Sad that Caroline Lucas gets too little wider exposure. 31 likes in two days aren't much.

@daviddack1595

Good, All true

@jeremysaint

hmm, a lot of state media in this comment section.

@frze5645

Carolyn Lucas in her speech in essence admits the all the reasons why we voted to leave the EU were legitimate - chief amongst these being that the EU needs to be democratised. Meanwhile the EU has already said - it will not reform.
The Logic that Carolyn Lucas then presents that we should stay on the EU because we will be better off is at best confused logic and at worst plain bloody stupid.

@VaucluseVanguard

One of life's natural 'know it all' authoritarians speaking from the bully pulpit I'm afraid.
