I do want to point out that there are other jobs at tech companies that are not SWE or Software Engineer. I am a data center technician doing PgM work toward being a Program Manager, still in the tech sector of this tech company. However, I do communicate, triage bugs, and approve CLs for SWEs, within my program manager work. So, I understand engineering terms and know basic coding.
