I was one of those who asked questions as a child because I needed Christianity to make sense on an intellectual level. Thankfully my dad (who was also my pastor) welcomed my questions and nearly always had an answer for me. Consequently, I never struggled with my faith, secure in the knowledge that the Bible's teachings are coherent and true.

He made an interesting comment, and I experienced exactly the same thing at the same time of my life. "I stopped caring whether or not God existed" I didn't care either, God did not enter in to my thoughts, at all. I had no angst nor curiosity, wondering if He was real or not. I just didn't care or think about it. I wasn't an atheist or an agnostic, I was a "selfist"! All that mattered was, what do I want next? Food, sex, recreation, and enough money to pay the bills. That went on for some time until one day the Holy Spirit started tugging at my mind! I wish it had happened much earlier in my life... Praise the Lord, he came and got me.

At age 7 I was presented the Gospel and simply believed. I am 62 now and have never looked back

This is a beautiful example of how God meets us where we are. This man needed to study further and deeply process what the Bible said. I really enjoyed hearing how his study was so thorough and how the Bible could provide that much in depth material for him.

This blessed my heart. The struggle intellectually for some is such a real thing. God is so kind and loving to meet us where we are! He is a baby Christian and just need that time grow. Pray for his discipleship. My heart is so full ❤

You can tell Larry is an ultra intelligent person... he reminds me of my older brother who talks over our family's heads most of the time but has been stuck in Scientology for the past 40 yrs... maybe I can get him to listen to Larry... Great episode !!!

As a scientist myself, I totally understand the reason for using "historical facts and evidence" as the basis of my faith. It just solidifies things. Also, if God wanted us to believe with faith alone, then there would be no need for Jesus to appear to many many people after the ressurection. The cruxifiction alone would have sufficed. Also, there would be no need for miracles, or dare we say, the outpouring of the Holy Sprit - we could just get by on brute-force faith alone. But of course, our Lord knows how hard-headed we can be as human beings, and thus gives us all kinds of truths and evidence to show that he is indeed real!

"Blessed is he who has not seen, and believed" I think that has to apply to "feeling like I need a savior", because it's that from which one must be saved in the first place. And who wants that? All salvation happens in reverse. God starts it, and even finishes it! Glory to God!

As a Christian and a combat veteran that literally bled for this country in several different ways that several different times from several different deployments can tell you firsthand that I saw God‘s work and miracles and ability right before my very eyes and a number of different occasions that have blown me away and only made me more of a believer And I’m not gonna go into detail, but God is great. God is all things he is the truth his will is just and he wants us to live as well, but he still gives us the choice to choose because he loves us that much and he respects us that much One might say that somebody that loved someone would not let them make the wrong choice if they knew, but you see, you have to understand that as a sovereign being that is created from God by God with the essence of the Lord within them, it is just in divine and right to give us the option of having our own will to make up our own mind. He puts his word out and shows in countless ways quite literally his truth, his word, and the reality of all things which is why we need to seek these answers and make the right choices. I’m telling you I only sit here with what I’ve experienced and gone through and the things that happened to me, especially physically I should not be alive. I’m only alive because of Almighty God working through people and at the same time in certain instances performed miracles that is why I sit here and can make this comment so the glory goes to the Lord. It is for his glory and for the love that we have for him and the love he has for us. He is the Almighty. He is the master. He is the one true God he is our father and our creator. Praise the Lord. AMEN & AMEN! ✝️🙏✝️
