"It ended in Marchand's tears" i love that quote 👌
One of my favorite Stanley Cup wins by a team I had no connection to. It was an inspirational and epic run starting with their infamous basement position in early January then reaching top of the mountain in June. This one will never be forgotten.
St Louis Blues may be the only Stanley cup winner without a hall of famer. Time might tell on that
Still brings happy tears. My life is complete.
As a wings fan I’ve never been so happy for a team to win. this franchise deserved it so much!! That was a wild season for them and if you told me even before the playoffs started they’d win the cup i would have chuckled.
Been a Blues fan since 2009. This was an epic run. I love this team
I thought the LA Kings 2012 Stanley Cup Championship was the greatest underdog stories of all time, because they became the 1st No. 8 seed to win the Stanley Cup, the 1st team to lead all 4 playoff rounds 3-0 and the 1st team to win 10 straight road games in the playoffs with a final overall postseason record of 16-4. Even if that isn’t the greatest underdog story of all time, it’s definitely on that list. This Blues Championship was 5 years ago.
Incredible story. Will remember it forever. Not a blues fan but that team will hold a special place in my memory. What a fun run
I'm a Canucks fan, so seeing Brad Marchand cry was pretty awesome. thanks for reminding me Hectic Hockey! You're a legend
Even as a Bruins fan, I can’t be upset about this. While yes, losing a cup at home is devastating (while most of the rest of the NHL thinks its hilarious), the Blues were just the better team in games 2, 4, 5 and 7. They deserved to win.
Nice touch with the gloria at the end, also bruins fans stay salty about the no call on the trip
Boston beat St. Louis in the latter’s third consecutive finals appearance. The Blues made it to the Finals twice before 1970, 1968 and 1969 against Montreal.
Great recap. Even better closing line!!!!
I started paying attention to the blues in the middle of that season when they won 8-3 vs devils I was at that game. And had no idea that they were in last place at like new years
As a bruins fan this day will forever haunt me
That was such a great final!
That Patrick Maroon goal in Game 7 still gives me nightmares as a Stars fan.
Pretty sure this exposes my bias but I'd argue 2012 Kings first cup run as a greater underdog. Entered the playoffs 8th seed and beat 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the conference.
Yess i remember watching game 7 as a kid and being so happy that the blues won and seeing marshy crying I was feeling nostalgic for this run🙏
