I like that there is actual use cases for the pad and not just a "review"
That 80s style educational video was hilarious, well done!
i mean.... this is certainly my favorite macropad channel.
I watched this video, and it launched me down a rabbit hole. Not even two weeks later, I am the owner of a Stream Deck XL. 🤣 This channel is great, but it can be hell on my wallet. That being said, I have squeezed back several minutes out of every hour and feel a bit less rushed after finding the right solution for me.
A user replaceable battery when you can get usb-C port charging traditional cells now? absolute win.
Why does it feel like the entire world has forgotten about rechargeable AAA/AA batteries? I personally greatly prefer them in devices such as game controllers over plug-in rechargeables but every time I've seen someone mention AA batteries in the past few years they time travel back to 1999 and their childhood gameboy.
Thank you ! I bought the AC19 thanks to your review and it works well ! I use it when back from work, it’s on the table I press a few keys and it wakes the Mac/opens Music app/plays a song randomly from my playlists a bit like turning on the radio… I use the wheel for volume and buttons for next/previous etc. Great gadget !
I have used about 4 macropads, this was the first macropad I bought about 3 years ago, I changed it for one from Huion that has more buttons. The macropads that I like the most are the ones related to artist and it is because its software makes it quite easy to configure and very versatile. In fact there is a new version of this model that looks much better and you can create 4 different profiles per software, it's like 5 dollars more expensive so it's definitely worth more than this version which is quite old. Also Wacom and Xenlabs have macropads, they are a bit more expensive and the design doesn't appeal to me but there they are if anyone wants to look.
As someone who has been switching to Linux, software being open-source usually means it also runs on all platforms. So, while this device sounds great and all, it does suck that the software is proprietary. However, since it wasn't mentioned in the video, they do support Linux, and actually include a wide range of ways to install it, including Deb packages, RPM packages, and even just the end product.
Take a look at the Contour Shuttle Pro 2. It's another "macro pad" that flies under the radar because it was originally designed for video editing, but it's a great general purpose macro pad as well.
easily the most useful video in this category I've seen recently. I will probably print a weighty 3D printed base for it that matches the angle of my keyboard.
I have been using this exact one for years. Its great. Also lets you use two buttons at the same time. Pair this with Microsoft Power Toys software and you can do a lot. I also have the Surface Dial which because more useful using PowerToys to remap macros also.
I absolutely love the macropad, 80's esque ad. That was super silly and this level of effort does not go unnoticed 😂 Great review + tutorial over all, bravo!
I personally like the huion key dial better since it has more buttons. The driver software is also a little more stable than XP-Pen in my experience.
the little gag at 3:50 was nice. very lowkey funny. i like
Your videos, information, and content is so well done and incredible quality. Please please please keep up the great work.
This is an amazing set up and exactly what i want
Well, I hit your link to buy and ended up with the ACK05. There's a $10 coupon for that one right now too, so it's just $39.99 and I should have it later today. I will update.
I'd love to see some of your favorite shortcuts or software you've connected within the XP Pen software. This video had me go out and buy the 360 link camera and the ACK05 from XP pen! You should work on those affiliate links too! Seriously, I think quite a few people would love a script & shortcut video for the XP pen stuff. Keep up the great content!
