@psamae

I have been producing in Ableton for 5 years and trust me this video would have meant the world to me when I first started. More than explaining the process of a lofi beat you explained the mechanics of ableton, all those small tricks and tips and shortcuts. You understood the assignment and clearly you have experience on what things people struggle the most when getting the hang on moving through Ableton interface. Keep up with the good shit!

As a fellow producer and electronic music teacher, when potential clients can't necessarily afford to be in the room with me to get instruction, I always send them to your page. Always giving such a wealth of knowledge. Lol with yur page and some real internal motivation, folks really don't need to go the college route like I did. Keep on keeping on brutha!

@cliftonmccallum8660

These videos are great, Ethan! I do want to point out that the bpm is really 85, but setting it to 170 and doubling the space between notes on the grid makes it feel like it's 85 bpm. I'm not trying to be pedantic, but I thought others might need an explanation if they're new to music production. If there's a reason for doing it this way, then please let me know. I'm certainly open to hearing new approaches. I'm thinking it's so that you can keep the grid in "8th" notes. I put it in quotes because it's meant to be quarter notes because a bar is four quarter notes. lol, okay. I think that I just answered my question. I think it's purely for the visual of being able to see the samples on the grid without seeing a bunch of extra lines.

@voinrima

I believe that the best for lofi instruments are the carefully created synths, with some envs and lfos on fin, amp, warp, with the right wavetables

@JayycobG

Great video šŸ’Æ Sidechain can go on its own lane, then route each lane needing SC to that lane to reduce strain on CPU. You can use more SC lanes for varying side chains, vocals etc. Saves time when using templates too.

@igorutzigpicco748

I have some millions streams producing lofi and still had some nice insights! Amazing video

@lukasbell618

adding to the praise, I am day two into using Ableton. Many thanks, I've gone through the onboard tutorial and as nice as it was being able to try and replicate what you are doing and messing up and fixing it has been invaluable. Again thanks.

@cuvvychase3626

This was by far, one of the most engaging beatmaking videos I’ve watched on youtube. You explain things so wellšŸ™ŒšŸ¾

@GusVisuals

I finally bought my Ableton Live Standard and this video is exactly what I needed to start playing around after using the Lite version for a while. Thanks!

@Sofatronic

I’ve been producing in Ableton since 7 while I was in college. When I hit a writers block I come back to ā€œbeginnerā€ videos like these to find a new way to approach the software. I almost never use stock plugins and I don’t drag drum samples directly to the grid, but just trying out different approaches that seem like they wouldn’t make a difference can mix up things just enough to get over something like writer’s block. Thank you for this.

@rahuljadhavcreates

Thank you, Ethan. I made my first ever beat because of you.

@barabaramoo

When Ethan rolled his eyes at the "D" joke, I truly felt like I was in class lol

@stevenshaneyfelt

grateful for this- been producing since 2012 and haven't found any lofi videos like this since

@LydiawithanN

I followed along and made my own lo-fi beat. Actually my first beat ever! I'm so proud of myself and thank you for this great video. Very informative. I'm considering taking the producer pro course. I'm gon' make it out the hood with this one! lol

@MohamedV.D.Mansaray

I watch a lot of youtube video’s and lately starting to uderstand and like making beats more. This video is a big help and reason why i will keep going on loving making music. Thankyou!

@misterleescience

Would be great to see a tutorial on how you take this initial idea and turn it into a fleshed out full track with parts. Thanks for the content!

@PrxdigyProductions

Love these type of videos! Got me saving for ableton because live is killing my creativity

@ClippCave

I absolutely loved this video! Especially considering I'm a beginneršŸ˜… not only did you make it easy to follow along to, but it was also fun and really encouraged me to continue creating and to make an attempt to create my first original piece! Keep up the terrific work!

@comegalliot6362

Thanks so much man !! Your vids are always top quality and straight-forward. Way more concrete and useful than some 30min videos where it feels like you don't retain any practical information at the end haha

@suki_noodles

Hi Ethan I just like to let you know that (what I know about) you and your content are amazing! you put it very simply and understandable to us who wanna learn, the way you speak and guide through your videos is so warming and the content itself is so rich!! I am very grateful for finding you doing this work at this time of my life, much love ā¤ā¤ā¤
