A year ago I started applying a light coat of coconut oil on the ends of my hair the night before I wash my hair (never at the roots, always just at the ends) and my hairdresser is impressed with how much thicker my hair has got at the bottom because it's not breaking off as much any more, and it's this which is making the difference as nothing else has changed in that time

@Valleriaa.a

since this came from a bald man,I’m trusting it 🔥

@beachykeenx

Ever since I started to watch your videos, my hair has improved dramatically. Thank you so much!! ❤

@mattilynrasmusson6483

Yes to everything except for not washing the mids and ends. I used to wash my ends all the time until I started watching these videos and taking all this advice and while my hair did improve dramatically, over time my hair felt gunked up, mostly in my mids and ends. I asked my hairdresser what was going on and broke down my whole routine. She said it was all great but the fact that I wasn’t washing my mids and ends meant that all the new products I use there were getting built up and needed to be washed out. I don’t wash them twice, like I do with my scalp, just once (so as to not dry out my hair) and it has made such a huge difference! My hair is less tangly and even healthier than before.
I think if you have short hair it doesn’t really matter. But if you have really long hair and use a bunch of products, I think you ought to wash your mids and ends.

I think it also helped to learn how much conditioner to use. I tried until it all felt slippery but it just didn’t seem right. I asked my hairdresser again what her thoughts were and she told me that if you can run your fingers smoothly through your hair while applying your conditioner you’ve got enough. That’s been a huge help for me, having that indicator to know when there’s enough.

@mimivvv888

Thanks for calling out those influencers who put oil in their hair...and then wash it! Always thought that was so strange! 🤣

@angelface333

chris, could you PLEASE do a video for curly hair styling? 🙏🏾💗 i’m always trying to do the math to figure out how many of these tips apply to me and which are targeted towards straight hair 💔

@minervarose7664

Agree with everything except the hair oiling part. In my South Asian culture women have been using coconut or sesame oil in their scalp and hair for centuries. Am not saying this will magically transform your hair but going back to my roots of oiling/ oil massage (pardon the pun lol) has definitely contributed to improving my hair health over the past year or so.

Pre-shampoo oiling doesn't so much hydrate the hair as it protects the hair shaft while washing. Over the past few years i started shedding alot of hair in the shower and pre-oiling reduced this significantly. Also if you use a good quality oil it will have many ingredients help maintain scalp health, minimize damage caused by chemical treatments, pollution etc.

I use virgin coconut oil infused with herbs like centella, fenugreek, neem, curry leaves, black seed, amla and also add a few drops of rosemary and lavendar essential oils. As i said it doesn't perform miracles but i've seen significant baby hair growth on my temples (where i was losing hair due to tight hairstyles) and also much better length retention.

Not trying to dispute anything he says, am no expert but just sharing my experience in case anyone is interested ❤

@patriciarivas5369

My hair has grown and looks much better since I have been following your hair rules. Thank you!

@tisser5716

Guilty of swirling the hair on top of my head when shampooing until.........I started following you and your techniques. WOW!

@ZsuZsu0513

Back in the ancient days, 1997 when I was in cosmetology school, the instructor told us to emulsify the shampoo and the conditioner in our palms before placing it on the clients hair. How far we have come from those days. I have super fine and thinning hair, because I’m an old lady and genetics were not kind to me.🤣🤣🤣
I love listening to your videos and have learned how to make my super fine, thin and very dry hair feel and look much better. Thank you, I love watching your videos and learn a lot from them. Even at 60 years old, you can still make improvements.

@laurabaghel786

Many of these tips are great but I'm not sure which ones are not for the wavy and curly hair types 🤔 I have wavy hair and want to learn to maintain it. Please make a video for wavy and curly types as well.

@PEWMANFU

I am 54 years old and have long thick hair to my hips. I know a lot of it is genetic but I follow most of Blowout Professors advice along with the George Michael Long Hair Method. I recently switched to Morcconoil products and like them a lot. I alternate with the GM products. I also use a silk pillowcase and silk bonnet.

@suebee33

Literally, not 5 minutes ago I was wondering about the hows and when’s of oil application. Thank you!

@emily-grave987

It took me almost 29 years to year how to wash my hair correctly. (I'm 28) Haha. Thank you for teaching me! ☺️ I've been washing my hair like this ever since I bought your shampoo and conditioner and I love it! My scalp is clean and my hair breakage has decreased dramatically!

@luciemew4865

There is so much different information out there on social media on how to wash/take care of your hair. This was so helpful! Thank you

@zuziagrzelka501

oh my god I've got everything right, and I think I can say that I have healthy hair so please listen to this guy because it will really help your hair

@olderendirt

Good refresher as I'd forgotten certain things, but my hair is to my waist and your methods have helped so much. I'm in my mid 60s and my grey is my crowning glory. Thanks for explaining everything so well, too.
