Couldn’t care less whos interested in him. If he wants united. Get him through the door. Hopefully guaranteed goals!
I don’t understand why people undermine Gyökeres’s ability just because he plays in the Portuguese league. Have we forgotten where we got Bruno and CR7 from?? Scoring 63 goals in a season is very impressive. If it was that easy, every forward in Portugal would be doing it.
I think the reason no one is in for gyokeres is they made contact with him or his agent and he told them he's going to united
I'm investing absolutely zero emotion in this until it's done. We've been linked to other excellent looking signings before and it's gone nowhere. He'd be an amazing signing especially with his history with Amorim but it still feels unrealistic to me
He would be a great add for the squad. He already did great for Sporting being a legend in the club with 2 leagues titles and portuguese cup under Amorim. From a Sporting supporter I tell you that this would be an amazing add, He press, He likes to pass the Ball and most important he scores.
I think early on, it was Amorim’s position that he wouldn’t return for “his” players at Sporting in January. In Gyökeres he’s left the guy to complete his best season to date, without the drama of moving in the winter. Sporting got their league title with their squad intact, and then gentleman’s agreements will start to come through. Gyökeres was probably holding out for reuniting with the man that helped him reach the top of the striker’s pyramid, he and Amorim had an understanding that he’d come for him this summer. Sure, a CL place, a trophy and the cash with it would grease the wheels, but the intention was always there. I’m hoping among the executives they’ve realised that Delap was not happening and they’ve quickly got onboard with Amorim’s thinking. If Gyökeres’ agent is saying no to other approaches because they’ve had this plan in place for 6 months, it’s quite obvious why other clubs aren’t circling like sharks. Remember, United have gotten considerably better at keeping their intentions fairly well under wraps. The building of the initial executive structure was coup after coup, people plucked from nowhere, and there’s no reason why it can’t be done with prospective player signings too. It’s in everyone’s interest to remain calm and patient and let the clubs work the money out. Put it this way, Sporting have decades-long relationship with United at this point. They know we’re good for the money, and we’ve never failed to keep our word. Maybe everyone is simply waiting for sales to go through so the cash is ready to go.
No red flag...he played in England...he demolished city. He will adapt because he wants to be a success
Gyokeres is deadly in front of goal in my opinion one of the most complete strikers around he can do it all i would love him to join us at old trafford everyone banging on about the league many amazing players have come from that league
I don’t want to get my hopes up but this would be the most excited I have been for a signing in so long. Gyokeres is genuinely world class, available for a decent price, Amorim, essentially, based his system around him and he has experience playing in England (championship). This feels like the banker as Gary would say and at a time like this imagine a front 3 of Cunha, Mbeumo and Gyokeres 😮 A man can dream (if he joins Arsenal I might cry)
I hope this man joins!
I believe either him or Osimhen would come to United. For Osimhen, he’s gonna have to compromise on his wages but anything is possible
We have to keep Hojlund, he's so young with loads of potential and has been burdened with trying to be sole striker for a terrible team. Look at where Gyokeres, Ibra & Lewandowski were at his age. He works hard, has a good attitude despite all the pressure and underperformance. He deserves at least one season with a settled squad and senior striker to take the pressure off him
Our last signing from Sporting had a similar situation with interest around them and he’s been nothing but worldclass. I’m hoping Gyokeres can be just as much a success as Bruno’s been for us
Hi Sam, I'm a Portuguese Sporting fan and idk why no one is going for him, but it is definitely not a red flag. I've seen interviews and the day in a life that Sporting made on him and he's a great person, funny, doesn't really fathom or understand the hype around him... I'm glad no one is going for him, because I wanna see the greatest ever Sporting manager do bits next season
Similar circumstances surrounded our previous Sporting acquisition, who has been nothing short of world-class. I hope Gyokeres can succeed as much as Bruno has done for us.
Mbeumo's sec bid incoming, 20mins ago Fabrizio reported.
No team outside of Dortmund went for Guirassy and look how he turned out, sometimes a player doesn't need multiple clubs going after them, just the right team
People were saying it was a red flag that no one was really pushing for Cherki even though he was apparently going for 30 mil. Now City have grabbed a bargain who will probably be annoyingly good next season. I think we need to be the ones to move whilst everyone is dragging their feet otherwise he'll be at Liverpool in a few weeks once they wrap up Wirtz.
i reckon he saw cunha and mbeumo two big names from the prem and just changed ship
