@Rick_King

I recently read that among the children of The Waltons, none of them ever got into any trouble. Something was done right on that series.

@crowgrl13

Regarding Joey Cramer...if you watch the documentary Life After the Navigator. He talks about that. He was addicted to drugs and desperate for a live-in rehab center, where he knew he could get clean. They told him that those were only for criminals, basically. So he purposefully robbed a bank so he would get arrested so he could get to a live in rehab center and get clean.
"On August 31, 2016, he was sentenced to a custodial term of two years less a day, as well as two years of probation, conditions of which included attending counselling and residing in a treatment centre for narcotics abuse."

And he finally did get clean.

A large part of the blame can go to parents, producers and other supervisors who put unrealistic pressure on to children, both in the work and expectations.

@HenryFrederick

I think of Anissa Jones from the TV show "Family Affair" when I was a little kid. She died of a drug overdose at 18...

@muffassa6739

😢😢 this is so sad I pray for all of the children 🙏

@leesashriber5097

No way would I expose my child to Hollywood and its secrets. I've seen too many kids go down the wrong road.

@rboddington

I have cast a lot of child stars for my movies. I am pleased to report that all of them have become successful young adults and teens. Not one has had trouble with the law, or drugs and alcohol.

@FromtheHerts81

It’s not just child actors who can have massive downfalls. I heard the members of the band Musical Youth, best known for Pass The Dutchie, mostly had awful lives after the band broke up. One had a drug related death at only 24.

@MrDan708

If you did a video including all cases of messed-up child actors, it would be a VERY long video. It's a story that goes all the way back to the earliest days of Hollywood.

@timbobsm

The pitfalls of child actors have been known since the silent movie era. I can almost bet that in all these cases, the parents were so wrapped up in glorifying the fame that their children brought to the family that they completely ignored their parental responsibility of raising a well adjusted child and preparing the child for life after the limelight has gone out.

@JustinEves-r4w

This is a great documentary 😊❤

@1967davethewave

None of the kids from "Different Strokes" made after the series ended. Todd Bridges is the last one alive and he has only had a bit part here or there mixed with various legal troubles.

@Jessica-wo6px

I feel bad for Jake Lloyd. TPM wasn't the best written movie and did steer off from the OG Star Wars story lore a bit but it was not his fault and he shouldn't have gotten blamed for the decisions of writers and didn't deserve the bullying he got😥

@aussie8114

Stay away from drugs and booze.

@velmahenderson8087

Sadly only one mention of "family support"😢

@robm3074

Sad sad sad. The responsibility lies with the loser. adults who we're influencing these children as they were working years ago, and that's why you have the result that you have. All those adults cared about what was going into the wallet.

@SusannePuerzel

Sad , that is all very very sad 😢

@DEVILTAZ35

It could be just as much about family values than anything they are exposed to in Hollywood.

Not enough research is ever done in the right areas around mental health.

I have been getting test after test personally for almost a year now and yet still subjected to more tests this week including a brain scan after being told I may have had unchecked Autism since I was a child.

I am starting to wonder what is even the point.

All I know is my mum had Bi Polar and Motor Neurone Disease so I am in what they class as a highly susceptible range.

No one in my family has ever had anything to do with show biz or even a social spotlight yet my brother still had a breakdown at 15 years old and I just had one last year after I lost my job in my mid 50’s.

There doesn’t seem to be any link as to why certain subjected conditions can trigger brain abnormalities.

At the end of the day not sugar coating anything that is all it is.

A brain abnormality.
