the space looks great! Only suggestion would be, I’ve used the types of boards on some of my projects, and with how long they are, I would maybe install a couple steel plates with small screws under at the seem just to help lock them together and additional support. Wood glue may not be enough to keep them tied together. Also I would probably install a 1x2 across the face too, under the shelf to the other 1x2 ‘s on the sides, to help support the front section of the shelf, could even add wood glue to the top of that board for extra support of the shelf. Looks like the shelf overhangs the 1x2’s a little. Then you stain that 1x2 also. Depending if you put anything , laundry etc…. It could flex the shelf a little so additional support can’t hurt. Otherwise, nice job!
