This is actually helpful to anyone who is participating in speech and debate. I am part of the speech and debate club at my school and I attend tournaments. In these tournaments we have to give our speeches for 4 different rounds and at the end there is an award ceremony to give awards to the people who gave the best speeches and debated the best. I actually knew everything in this video. Since um and uh are very bad for your speech. Using um and uh makes you sound unprepared and it makes you sound like you don’t know what to say or you’re forgetting something. Um and uh also makes you sound less confident. And when giving a speech or presentation you want to look confident and deliver the speech/presentation well. Remember, confidence is key and it plays a big part in speech giving and presenting. Also I know “like” is unprofessional. My judges for my speech tournament called me out once for using “like”. Don’t ever use “like” in a speech or an essay. And I can confirm this guy’s advice is helpful. Use pauses. We call those dramatic pauses. In speeches sometimes you’ll Pause here and there. You pause between paragraphs and sometimes people use pause in speeches to build suspense or build the speech up more. But REMINDER! Don’t use pauses too much. In this case, the more the merrier isn’t really true. Don’t put too much pauses but also just use some pauses.

Also, make sure that you know how to speak in front of your audience and have some “main” sentences to use when you forget something. It’s really stressful being in front of the class.
