@Swap_1105

Finally found the person who sends me the annoying ads😣😣😜🤣🤣

@AL-ei2gc

I work for Google make 300K.
2 years later~
I got laid off, looking for a new job.

@Newbutold

Ask her: Why are the fake ads always on top

@alexaneals8194

The fact is a majority of software engineers don't work at Google, Facebook, and etc. and don't get paid anywhere close to 300K. My first software engineering job paid $17/hr and went up to $27/hr when I left it. So, basically 35K to 56K. The highest I have made in a year was 156K and that was with over 15 years of experience. The wages go up and down depending on the contracts and the market conditions, but around 110K to 150K is probably the average for a senior in the industry.

@Wong-Jack-Man

There is a hidden downside to this type of salary working for big tech. If your're layed off good luck finding another job easily with similar income. Big tech does routine prunings. Secondly expect high demand, expectations and burnout over time. Im a high tech earner and constantly burned out, wolfing down my lunch while working and have no social life.

@austinmaiden4663

As a software engineer who graduated in 2021, I made $64k out of college with decent benefits. No bonuses. At that same job I now make $76k

Edit: still at this job, now making $83,700

@joedasilva38

..and STILL can’t afford an apartment in California lol

@KijjiSale

I know a granny pick bottles in Vancouver in 1980 and make 40k year and a house cost 70k and she bought 3 houses, now each worth 2 millions

@niveZz-

me using an adblocker:

@mrdanno7965

That's unreal. I've been a Software Engineer since the days they called us "programmer/analysts". In my 40+ years of experience, I never made close to that

@supernaturalsupremeslayer8152

She's probably one of those who didn't made a tiktok video of how she gets to relax at her job, that's why she's still employed

@singlegoldenorb

the question now is.. does she still have a job there or was she laid off?

@avarmauk

Good for her, being a software engineer is not an easy job and if you’re good at it, you deserve to be rewarded.

@tprim7736

275Κ for work that adds up ZERO value to humanity

@gagizagi

Salaries in US are so insane. I work a comparable position in central EU and get about 15% of what she does (and thats 95 percentile industry salary here)

@konstantinos3253

For more senior roles, level 5 or above salaries range from 400k to over a million.

@ashylarry4867

What they fail to say is that the median home price in Santa Clara county (where Google is headquartered) is 1.7 million dollars. That's more than four times the median home price in the US. Sure, $300000 sounds like a lot, but that doesn't go very far there - especially considering the high tax rate in CA. Unless you come from a wealthy family who is willing to help or you have a partner earning a similar amount, you'll be lucky to get a small 900 sq ft condo with her salary. A salary of $300000 in the Bay Area is the equivalent of about $80000 in the average US city.

@Emmyyyy5

You don’t need a 9-to-5 when you’ve got Girl Boss Hustle: Earn 10k from Home. It’s time to start thriving, not just surviving.

@DevGuy416

can you do a follow up, but now as where are they?
