Reporter says that Pak was on a military pause for the last 48 hours till the morning of 10th May to give a window for the diplomacy. However, India again attacked the airbases inside Pakistan, one near the Capital Islamabad, in the early morning. Then Pak responded and put the India on the back foot.

Till yesterday it was not our war but as soon as Pakistan launched ballistic missiles on India, all the sudden India didn't want further acceleration and it became our problem so we announced a ceasefire.

As someone born in the United States, my take on this is that India was waiting for a reason to push Pakistan to see when/if they would retaliate. They were looking for some weakness in Pakistan's response to a crisis and an attack, which I feel they have not found. Had Pakistan not retaliated whatsoever, I think India would have continued to send bombing runs/drones/attacks into Pakistan until they were met with a response. This whole situation felt like a test. The second Pakistan retaliates, India accepts ceasefire. It's just a very suspicious situation, especially when the claims of Pakistan's involvement in the terrorist attack was never verified or had any evidence, something I feel India would definitely have wanted to present if they were going to carry out an attack on the pretenses of this terrorist attack.
