Thanks for sharing the history of Persia, thank you from Iran❤️🇮🇷

@brokenbridge6316

Always nice to know more about the Persian Empire.

@YoreHistory

Cheers everyone! Hope you enjoy part 2 of the Persia Rises series. This focuses on the short but expansionist reign of Cambyses II. The next video will likely be the 2nd of the Dutch Golden Age series as I have received requests to complete it.

After that I will continue covering Asian/Middle Eastern history with a very likely foray into Aztec/Incan/Mayan as well! Let me know what specific periods of history you would like to see me cover in addition to sequels which I will try my best to always complete! Thanks again for all your support everyone!

@timurthelamest5630

Herodutos himself being from Halicarnassus no doubt exaggerated the influence of Phanes in his stories.

The Achaemenid empire conquered many lands, including Egypt and the Levant and the Persian King Cambyses also became the Pharaoh of Egypt. In fact, the blue lapis lazuli that was used to outline the head of the Sphinx was imported from what was then part of Persia and today the Badakhshân province of Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

@amas2441

Ancient times were brutal

@vincentpetemachuca8168

I believe the Phoenicians unwilling to plot on Carthage, is what led the Persians to invade Hellas with intent to use there preexisting rivalry and seamanship towards Carthage.

@saeedmodanlou1874

Great job Yore History. In my view this narrative can be the most accurate chronicle events of Cambyses II era. But the most important issue that needs to be considered in Eventful and bloody activities of Cambyses II was nothing of Cyrus II"s order or his political ambition. Conquering prosperous Egypt was not ever a political agenda of Cyrus II. The only Person who enormously befitted from Egyptian conquest at the beginning of the eventful and bloody conquest was Darius I. Darius I was from family of Persian elite that were governing Estakhr or (Parse - Modern Fars province, east of Susa capital of Elamite - Persian kingdom). Darius I had a plot concocted in his head to transfer the power to himself and Arioramna family upon Cyrus II death. As we know "Thiespes" son of Achaeminid the first Elamite- Persian king of Anzan, Conquered Susa and eastern province of Elam (Khuzestan). A discussion was arisen among the Persian elite in order to establish a Persian kingdom or Elamite- Persian kingdom. The discussion resulted that Estakhr (Parse) province to be governed by Persian princes of Arioramna family as an autonomous region of the entire kingdom. Susa and Anzan was given to Cyrus I, Father of Cambyses I and Grandfather of Cyrus II. Please check Darius I's rock relief of Behistun. It will tell you, how he crushed sixteen uprising of eleven Satrapys within two years with wealth and mercenaries that he could provide for himself as a grand feudal of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Syria and Anatolia. Phoenicians were the most powerful Ally of Darius I. Both unsuccessful battles of Marathon and Salamis was pursued and financed by Phoenician the arch enemy of the Greek merchants through entire Mediterranean coats.

@zohaibqayyum9208

Kindly share sources you used for persian empire history.

@IAmJacobyy

Cambyses II dealt with egypt horribly because of the scared bull thing. In doing this he made egypt a defecit province do to the constant revolts. Rome administrated egypt much better.
Persians are know for their administration and are one of my favorite civs. This being one of their rare administrative blunders shows how no bueno Cambyses II was.

@gediminaskucinskas6952

You certainly should have mentioned the version of Darius plot. It feels like you fail to mention what you do not like by motivating it as uncertainty. There is always uncertainty. But you probably should mention all versions. Specially the one pushed by Darius himself which is pretty significant.

@perseuns4896

I'm pretty sure they called it "The Empire" not 'This Empire'.. great video
