thank you for this! as a current game design student, we don't really have classes that teach shaders at my school so you explaining everything in simple terms really helped me further my knowledge! looking forward to more tutorials
I've been watching this sporadically through the week. I've never understood the fundamentals so well before! Excellent explanations.
until watching this video, i never realized that the x, y z arrows for the transform tool in unity corresponded to the normal 'mango' colors (around 1:38:00) -- green for up axis, red for right axis, blue for back axis. that's neat that is the reason for that, haha. also - this video is amaaazing. learned so much. Freya is so good at explaining complicated things in an easy to understand way!
Um what did I wake up to
It is the best introduction to shaders that I saw in soo much time. Thanks to you I already understand better how is works. I look forward to applying it as soon as I can to my projects. Thank you Freya.
Why the hell did i wake up to this playing????
Thank you for this video. So much valuable information. I think more people should be aware of shaders and what they do in 3d. Because so many people start o leran 3d in someways and the most of the tutorial videos they see are blender or donut making videos. AI is here and if you are only a 3d artist nobody needs you. Learning a game engine and shaders are important.
I learned so much in one video. I was so confused with what Shaders are, how they works... Thank's so much !
This must be the greatest tutorial ever made on any subject whatsoever... I almost gave up on everything trying to learn these stupid Unity shaders for the past week ... they really make it difficult for the beginner (and I have been programming for 30 years or so) because the documentation is all over the place ... take for example the simple mix up with the TEXCOORD0, where it means one thing up here and another thing down there ... I can only thank you so much for slowly lifting the Unity fog from shader coding ... so good ... I am going to record this video so I always have it just in case YouTube AI decides to delete itself someday ...
YouTube will not stop recommending me this video and every time I see the thumbnail I get a heart-stop moment because this woman could be my freaking twin, especially from a side profile, and I keep randomly thinking that someone has uploaded my face online for whatever reason. Not to mention I've never once looked up anything related to game developing, shaders etc but YouTube insists on giving me a heart attack every day by randomly showing this video in my recommended.
Watching this video and taking notes while also reading the unity shader bible Currently, I’m about an hour and 40 minutes into this video and I feel like not really in a position where I can practice but I feel like I can begin to apply some of these concepts. I don’t know how far this series goes, but hopefully it goes all the way because this is great stuff.
Best teacher of this specific staff!
I had watched a few videos before this that were a bit prescriptive\shallow on the topic. However, your video while long, was very in depth and matter of fact about what is happening in a unity shader. Loved it. Learned a bunch. Thanks.
Thanks
This is a great master class but also the best way of teaching. I can feel how you love what you do. Thank you so much for this content.
Freya big thanks, I understand you better than my advanced computer graphics course teacher. Unity Is a new monster for me but Im adapting to it on these months.. big big thanks.
mmm I'm not sleepy or, waking up here. and the content is constant and interesting, more vids pls
Amazing video. Thank you.
the animation stuff blew my mind, so many possibilities!
