Same thing happened to me in September (with half the IT department). Weird meeting set in the morning, fired in the afternoon without notice. I found another job in two months after dozens of interview (in Europe) and I have to say I'm glad I got layoff, I definitely like the new place better. Good luck.
You weren’t laid off - you were hired as a cinematographer!
The production value of this is just subreal
Such incredible storytelling and brilliant use of typography, as a software engineer, absolutely loved every second of this. Keep pushing my man, things are gonna be wonderful for you, bless !
This feels real and relatable. Layoffs are tough, but there’s something powerful about seeing someone lean into the uncertainty with honesty and creativity. Thanks for sharing your world!
By the way, I absolutely love how smooth the transitions are in every frame, and the music and sound are just perfect. I just watched all three videos, and honestly, you can tell how much effort and care you’ve put into them. Amazing work! 🔥
I was laid off in May 2022 and only began a new one beginning of 2025. It took a toll on my marriage. It's just insane.
I also have been laid of as a Software Engineer recently, just before the new year. I also thought it's a bad time to loose the job. But you know what? I already found a new job with bigger salary at a higher position than I was before. It took just 1 month - my record(35 interviews and 13 technical interviews).
Seems like a cinematographer just entered the job market.
This is one of the most engaging YouTube videos I've seen in ages. Such a fresh style.. thank you and good luck with the future.
I love the cinematography. This awesome, please keep it up :)
Very good story telling with awesome music, scenes and transitions. Good job man, I think you gave a lot of effort for this 5 minute video, but it totally worth it!
Crazy production value here. Can definitely relate to the 2nd half. I’m a computer engineer and wondering why I’m even where I’m at right now.
I hope you’re doing well! I’m in a similar boat my last day as a SWE apprentice was just last Friday, and honestly, it’s been a bit tough trying to land a job as a junior. Fingers crossed for both of us!
Man, that’s rough. Kudos to you get getting active though. Even turning out such a high quality video given the circumstances is great. Good luck getting sorted.
im gonna subscribe. I've been laid off half a year ago and took me 6 month to get a new one (not bad vibes, it wasn't just because the market) in the meantime I thought that was the best opportunity to create content and tried, but I couldn't, I was too stuck to simply start doing it. So, it's very inspirational to see you doing it, and SO well done bro.
Hey man, I was laid off this month too, also in tech. I was lucky enough to already make it to the final round of interviews with a company but ended up not getting an offer. I can very much relate to your mindset of stepping back and reevaluating. Beautifully shot/edited video as well, you got yourself a new follower.
BRO , i just loved the Cinematography 😍
This is a well-edited and well-script video. I wish you all the best, good luck!
