What happens if the hardware fails, and/ or it gets damaged. Are you just SOL?

With the new firmware you can extract the private key from the "secure" element. I wouldn't suggest Ledger anymore. It's closed source anyways.

Don’t buy this piece of crap unless it’s a newer addition it will break down and not charge and constantly need updates. Which updates is not a problem. It’ the battery that likes to have problems and not work
