@vaticinus

Every thing Peter has said about China has been wrong. 15 years ago he said China will collapse in less than 10 years. Said Russia would occupy Ukraine in weeks. Said Trump would lose by the greatest margin in US election history. He still gives good information about current affairs others are not covering but I'm done getting predictions from him.

@pakviroti3616

Peter is the Jim Cramer of geopolitics, seldom right never in doubt.

@MichelePonte

People have been predicting the collapse of China every year for the past 20 years.
There are some valid points, but their system is completely different from ours, which is why most of these analysts never get it right.

As an electrical contractor I can tell you the shortage of electrical distribution equipment started 4 years ago and hasn’t came back.
    Most electrical equipment sold in the U.S. today is made in America and Mexico.

@kaanlalem

My main concern is how we will navigate the ongoing financial and political crises, especially the power struggle in the United States. The government has created significant challenges for its citizens, and we can not passively accept the consequences of poor governance.

@devopstech7054

I like this channel because I find it amazing someone can be consistently wrong and this confident.

@robertoswald4861

The problem is, when one speaks about transformers, there’s more than meets the eye.

@larrynelson5292

I went to Miami after Hurricane Andrew to do roofing. After driving around the city and many of its suburbs, I thought it would take between 5-10 years for it to recover. It was basically rebuilt in 9 months. Free enterprise will surprise Mr Zeihan.

@deltasteve1

Electrical engineer here. Transformers come from US, Canada, Mexico. Electrical steel insides comes from US or Canada. The wire is manufactured in us or canada. Wire materials are aluminum and copper. Not too long of a supply chain. I wouldnt worry about transformers. Switchgear seems to be the hardest to get with the longest lead times.

@steven4315

Don't know about China but here in the US, gym membership is pretty important if you're homeless. It's where you shower.

@Jollyrogertshirts

He’s still talking about the same old crap. I used to think this was important but it’s not. He just likes making videos about this and wearing sunglasses.

@LewisPulsipher

People who think the US can rapidly start manufacturing what it needs within its border remind me that this is the Age of Instant Gratification. People want everything NOW, but that's not how it works.

@Withnail1969

But Peter told me China collapsed 15 years ago

@Beardhoundmountainranch

I am currently in a rural part of China, returning for the first time in eight years. A few observations:

- The infrastructure seems improved. Roads, bridges, buildings seem better.
- There are more babies around. Not as many as my hometown in the US, but more than I remember eight years ago, when there were almost none.
- There are markedly fewer people on the streets than eight years ago. Could be a shift to car culture, could be actual population drop. Hard to say.
- People talk about the drop in car and home prices. Housing has dropped by 20% in the last year or so. Electric cars are a whopping 50% cheaper than this time last year.
- As a foreigner in a small town I stand out like a sore thumb. Eight years ago I was a celebrity. Now there are some mixed reactions when I say I am from the US.
- Prices are dirt cheap. The US dollar has markedly more buying power than eight years ago.
- No obvious signs of a recession sending people into poverty.

My hope is that if any of Zeihan’s doomsday predictions come true, they come slowly such that there is time for both US and Chinese societies to adjust and life goes on. I don’t wish for a revolution in China so much as a semi-revolution of moderate, gradual, lasting change.

@ralphee7487

I have searched for experts on geopolitics, economics, psychology, governments, physics, and geography all over U.S. University campuses and didn't find very many. All I had to do was go to the YT comments section to find the World's experts in everything. So many experts.

@davidburke2697

I've been in China for the past 12 years. The development in NE China has been outrageous. I've seen the development. Macro-economics, I can't talk about that as I don't give a F. I only care about my economy and what China provides me.

@Duncaniowa17

I’m glad we put in solar power when we did. It’s not for everyone, and every climate. With an EV, we generally drive for free. Yes, we paid a one time charge to put it the solar. The more people who can do this, the less strain on the grid.
It would make sense for the US vs other countries to make solar panels. The big cost though is the labor costs.

@rasmusrasmusson

I am pretty sure Zeihan produces this content as "copium", and realized that it makes good money to tell people that all will be fine. He seems like a bright guy, so I don't think he actually believes all of this.

@Tranquillizer88

Would like to come back to this video 3-5 years from now :)

@hernanuliana9111

Zeihan analysis have great comedic value.
