I had a tooth that ended up super rotted inside because I walked out during a procedure (severe needle phobia and they injected me with no warning). I thought the new dentist I saw would have to pull it because you could literally see black inside the tooth but luckily the bottom half was fine so they just did a root canal and slapped a crown on it. It makes me wonder how someone could deal with a tooth decayed enough to fall apart, you have to been in a pretty bad place mentally and/or physically to just live with that kind of pain.
