I always feel like he keeps saying simple things in a complicated way
Thanks for not telling us dude. I want my 30 seconds back
The notetaking app that Justin uses for that infinite canvas is called “concepts”
Another great tool is Olovka-AI. It records lessons and converts them into organized AI notes—super helpful!
For mind numbing facts, flashcards and note taking software with backlinks such as Obsidian are essential if combined with spaced repetition. If we're talking about making connections and conceptualization, infinite canvas will make more sense. Just make sure you label your files correctly and your handwriting/drawing is legible + easily searchable/indexable!
This guy doesn’t say a damn thing that’s helpful.
"offload cognitive resources to represent that schema in a single format" just say you want to make notes bro
Very true. I use goodnote5 on my iPad for combining anything, getting stuff down, doing practice, working on tutorials, past papers, etc. For written up on computer notes that hold just the information needed, how to do certain questions, what they're about, just the core content. Then I use Microsoft OneNote which everyone hates on but it does the job, then most of those end up in my Goodnotes as well
I did my formal learning before phone apps existed. I used paper... but basically in this way. These days my learning is mostly incremental and immediately and extensively applied, which definitely aids retention, familiarity and conceptualisation.
Bro he didnt even say the app he is gatekeeping
Honestly, you should look back at the way you edit and present the infor in your short videos. It's not straight to the point. You just keep pushing around the bush and say some unessary stuff that can skip right away. Sometimes, you talk so long that one of your points abrutly reach the end of the videos. Seriously, I enjoy your long-form videos, but I'm sick of these irrevelant shorts.
So what’s that one infinite canvas called? Gimme back my 30 seconds bro 😭😭😭
I use ColorNote, very simple with notes, checklist and calendar which is all I need in a note taking app.
I finally reached this exact same conclusion today as well. What a coincidence I found this video on the same day
Perfect study companion for students is OlovkaAI - lecture recording, quizzes and AI essay writer. Learning is effortless with Olovka-AI.
Genuine question asking as a noob. What's wrong with the default Samsung notes drawing app on Samsung tablets? Just that it doesn't have an infinite canvas?
You are explaining something as simple as 'jotting down my thoughts' by phrasing it as: "Off-loading cognitive resources...to do higher order thinking...to represent that schema..." Not everything is rocket science or clinical psychology. Sometimes simplicity works best. Turning such as extremely simple but useful everyday activity into something esoteric and ivy league, you gate-keep and put off those who need it most.
How much should you put in one canvas? Should all notes from an entire class or book be on one canvas? Or should you use a new canvas for each chapter. (And maybe have a master canvas for for the big ideas for the whole class/book?)
All of the geniuses prior to the invention of the iphone didn't need any apps. Just paper & pencil/pen.
