I think the reason I was able to escape getting sucked into celebrity culture from a young age was that my parents didn't engage with it. it made me feel like I didn't fit in with my peers when I wouldn't know what they were talking about, and made it hard to make casual conversation and get to know them, and yet I now feel like that may have been a blessing in disguise. I truly feel for people who have gotten wrapped up in stan culture, and only hope they can find healthier hobbies in the future.

I completely agree with you!! This celebrity cult following is out of control!! I remember also being really into my childhood bands, and singers, but I feel like with the rise of social media and internet access, its just so easy to project on others. This is deff a huge problem.

For some of these stans and stalkers like the Paula Abele one I do feel sorry for them. Something bad had to have happened in their lives for them to basically live and breathe for a single person like that. Not saying for every stan/stalker but some of them had to have gone through shit. Still it’s very creepy to think they’d go to such lengths. Their minds are far gone

Not the colonizer song lord lmao. Honestly, I never had posters everywhere or did any of the celebrity worship as a young one. I never understood it, it's kind of like sports when people are so invested. I don't get it lmao. I did have favorite artists though. I also didn't know where Stan came from so , thank you for shedding light on that.
