Walmart is treating Spark drivers like the drivers are their actual employees and not independent contractors. I think if they’re going to have a bunch of specific rules, they should actually hire them as employees with Walmart employee benefits.
I’ve been doing spark longer than you Pedro. But still the gig economy has changed my life. I remember when I subbed to your channel when you were Pedro “DoorDash” Santiago. I appreciate what you do and the advice you’ve given over the years.
Everyone should abandon these apps. They dont pay shit and do not care about drivers at all.
The biggest one that stood out to me is agreeing not to take part in any class actions against walmart, lol (but I think that's always been in there). And that they can basically do what they want and we can either be happy about it or kick rocks. They aren't responsible for any lost earnings. We're also not allowed to copy/archive/reproduce any info from the app (so even making screen shots is against this tos technically). Also, I had no actual glitches, the tos popped up for me as soon as I logged in. I scrolled through it, it's mostly the same bs it's always been, signed and carried on.
I did end up going home! Blank white screen after refreshing 10 times. I switched over to Uber and went home. I like Walmart Spark it's my favorite app actually but I absolutely hate how glitchy it can be. Thanks for going over the terms and conditions.🎉
**Just one little correction to what you said, you ARE allowed to have passengers. They just can't disrupt your performance and they can't be children that are not old enough to be left alone in the vehicle while you do a delivery.
From what I read it also inferred that any content created while doing Spark needs to be approved by Walmart. They basically could claim that they have property rights to it. I am talking about Spark related content only. Any filming in a store or on their property could get you deactivated. I think negative content is what that they would have issue with? Basically one forfeits all their rights and claims to these gig companies.
My thing is to always be nice to all store people and customers and do things right. If you don't want to carry the heavy stuff don't take the offer and this app is probably not for you. I typically don't do a lot of curbsides although that is kind of changing because they have started giving me good ones, but even when it was one or two a week I made sure the car was presentable. All it takes is one bad impression to get you gone.
Thank you for this video. I am grateful that I found your channel. I am subscribing when I started on Spark. I really couldn’t find no videos unless I was just not putting in the right title.
Keep in mind you can also report the store just as much as they report you. I had an issue with my local store and reported them for harassment
In regards to stats keep in mind acceptance rate is broken at the moment, it only goes up never down for about 3 weeks now
I didn't even try to use the Walmart Spark app yesterday because I knew it was having issues from what I seen on YouTube that morning. So, this morning I opened the app. I went through and read the terms of service update and agreed. All good. No problem! I can Spark now!
The fact that Walmart is even associated with this app and it has this many issues is just another indication that the MANAGEMENT could NOT care less about what the spark drivers are having to deal with..... remember folks, this is the same company that settled a huge class action lawsuit for not paying overtime hours to their own employees....keeping many of their employees at 32 hours so they wouldn't have to provide benefits...and making their employees work through their break times....even though they were and still are making great profits.....my current job has a rotating schedule and this schedule provides a GREAT work life balance...now this schedule had been asked for for several years only for management to say "that will NEVER HAPPEN"....The reason why the rotating schedule had been asked for was because they guys weren't getting their off days due to "Mandatory" overtime ....so the 5/2 schedule really became a 6/1 and in some cases a 6 1/2 and 1.... Yes...12 hours off then right back to work....yes that went against federal labor law but again....the MANAGEMENT at that time DID NOT CARE..... eventually ALL of the employees walked out of the facility causing major problems because this facility is part of the oil and gas production industry so it runs 24/7....the same MANAGEMENT that said "it will never happen" .... immediately changed to the updated rotating schedule where all employees would get off days during the week with one week off per month....(this is a very common schedule in the oil and gas field).... I've said a lot and my apologies for doing so, but the management at Walmart does not seem to be too concerned about all of the complaints that are being posted about this app that's supposed to play such a huge part in getting THEIR products to homes across this nation.... what's so infuriating to me is that I know if the mainstream media started running stories about all of the negative effects of this trash app called "WALMART" Spark, they would unleash one of their many high paid spokespersons to squash the "bad publicity".... So just as some of the other commentators have stated....and just like what happened at my job ...there needs to be a complete rejection of this app by a large majority of spark drivers because if not Walmart will continue to ignore what's going on not just with all the glitches, but the drivers who are using bots.... multiple phones...as well a multiple identities....but those issues are for another time.
I experienced this today with the app. Thanks for posting
Drove me nuts today!!!! I did accept my first 10+ stop today afterwards for $64 and loved it!
I was on a delivery and when I returned to the store, they said they can't remove the order from my phone, so I went home and had to log in from laptop and they made me change password and except the terms and conditions, returned to the store wifi just to fix it.
I believe if you put an item out of stock and another driver takes another order that happens to have that same item but it is in stock, if you do it enough they will know base on that. Very unlikely that item will be in stock minutes after a driver put it out of stock.
Pedro in the new update it states that higher metrics you will receive more offers. Also in the terms and conditions with the new update, it says that if you have a child in the car that child must be old enough to be left alone. And if there's a passenger, that passenger is not to provide any help with the services
None of these updated TOS matter to me🤷🏾♂️ none of it applies to me(meaning I don't break those rules or risk it) so it's whatever
