@khorvietech

This isn't my favorite method of timer resolution so I might come out with a preferred method too sometime in the future for a custom timer resolution
Edit: cough cough Amit’s version might be on its way in a future video

@h0tyyAlcatel

Thx so much, I was hearing a lot about timer resolution lately and playing around with it myself and just couldn't notice a difference no matter how hard I tried. Thx for this explanation

@wydhere22323

i deadass get happy when i see a khorvietech upload

@n4umm

I used this in like 2019 to boost FPS in CSGO because I saw it on youtube and I installed it on my slow ass office PC. I genuinely never noticed a change in anything. And to be honest it's such a small difference that it isn't really that important. Interesting topic non the less. Great channel btw, keep up the vids

I subscribed. You single-handedly helped me optimize my new Windows 11 PC.

@frossida

Amit's fine-tuning timer resolution works even better. You should check out different intervals around .5 (.506, 5.1 etc). Sleep delta changes dramatically with it. Would be cool to see some capframex results with them as well.

@mrkayden1

this guy is the most realistic performance guy you'll find, none of the +8000fps guides from a potato set up, just general tips.

@FFox98

for timer resolution: if CPU bounded/weak processor, keep the timer in 1ms, beefy CPU you can lower it to 0.5ms. The difference will be nearly unnoticeable anyway and most applications were meant to have a timer of 1ms. However clearing the stand-by list Is something worth having

@sixtuh

this one of most legit and truthful channels from guiding side clear explanation and straight to point
i have 1 request if u could do guide on how to stabilize your ping and stop packet loss and lag spikes if u could that would so helpful

@mrsillygaming1454

10/10 this has been bothering me for two years now thank you so much!

@NyancoreNekogriefer

I used this on my old windows 7 laptop which I played osu on. For me with that toaster laptop (which struggled with even keeping chrome open in the background while playing osu) it actually made a NOTICABLE difference. It felt more responsive and fluid to quickly move my cursor around in the game!

@Ag1Le

thanks for confirming that it doesn't work in windows 10

@StumpedStoryScroll

WHAT!!! I came into this video thinking that youtube is recommending some random video explaining how the windows clock works. MY GOD. WHAT DID I STUMBLE UPON?!

@jonnyrichards

Just so people have this clear, this timing doesnt affect your game's main systems directly, just some of the background stuff the game does. Ofc modern engines are huge so you can measure some impact. (From the tiny bit of reading ive done it looks like the performance impact is likely to be from re-awakening slept threads. When I tested for my own engine, sleeping the thread to cap the fps consistently made each frame ~1-2ms longer than intended)

@Siganati

Most creative rock I’ve seen.

@AelfricLake

If you are not cpu bottlenecked it usually performs very well and improves your input lag. If you are, I highly suggest not modifying it since it will very likely cause stability issues with inputs.

@dunny

Damn last time I heard anything about this program has to be like 2012-2013? Cool that it's still being used in 2024.

@Rudi-Brudi

Last time i checked, most modern games set timer resolution automatically to 0.5ms. But that was some years ago on Win10.
