@AmandaBooBerry

The landlord zooming in from a place with palm trees is a bad look when people are living without heat and with raw sewage issues. Lying to the court to cover up slum conditions needs to be criminally charged.

@TerrysQuest

A+ to the tenant for being brave enough to joke about it with the judge, she was so funny!

@Ocrilat

I have to say it's charming that these poor tenants, after everything they have been through, still have a sense of humor. They seem like people a landlord would want as clients.

@natyboops

They tried to play in the judge face and Judge Simpson said this is a COURTROOM not a PLAYGROUND!

@neveroutgunned1

The Landlord is clearly on vacation meanwhile the tenants are in Michigan without power? At least go in a non-descript room my guy... Woof...

@ARCHR221

It's so disrespectful to not only the court, but also his TENANTS, that he wouldn't show up in person for a problem as serious an issue as this is. Cowardly.

@limbopete2516

Someone like this doesn't stop until they get stopped, because the problems stem not from apathy, or lack of consequence, but an active ethos of personal enrichment that tries to fill a never ending well of entitlement via taking whatever can be taken from people lower down on the ladder. Those houses being unlivable is a feature, not a bug.

@celinakillingsworth1965

The landlord is obviously having the records “altered” and then using semantics to argue completion. What a fraud. He needs to be held accountable for not just being a slumlord but also lying to the court.

@KimRagan-q4m

This is just horrible they should have never had to live in conditions like that especially elderly and children judge Simpson is the best judge for this case cuz I know he's going to give them all Justice

@SR-kh9zy

There should be a law: "If 10% or more of the apartment complex is red tagged (condemned apartments and otherwise). All apartment units will be treated as condemned, and tenants are given court agreed upon reasonable hotel accommodations until the property is brought up to code. No rent can be sought now or in the future for any time of this order. Once the court is satisfied, rent collection can commence as directed by the court." The slum lords would be quick to fix any and all issues ASAP.

@ladyb1777

Reico was trying to be so respectful and kept getting ignored, my guy, I hope you get your situation solved

@plutospiralshapeseaseal

You'll see "Beal is a Slumlord" stickers around Ypsilanti

@Daniel.Rodrigo-05Law

This is the most upsetting court case I've heard ever civilly and he should be looking at criminal charges if Michigan allows that. I am surprised that he is not 6 feet under yet! Skum and slum.

@phylliscantrell9107

Did he say black mold that's dangerous....file a claim with his insurance company I know it's making u sick

@rebeccab2446

I want to hug my landlord. he responds to issues immediately + if he sends someone, checks in to see if the problem was resolved. He lets me have a pet, he hangs a wreath on our doors for holidays and sends us Christmas cards of his family.

It really isnt that hard to be a decent person. It is actually hard to be a bad person. Stewart Beal works really hard.

@njemilenantan2269

Deceptive, how has he been allowed to operate like this? He is a slum landlord.

@kellygray9067

My son rented from beal in toledo. His ceiling was leaking and fell in. The eork order was submitted as completed!! He ended up having to throw a lot of his belongings out due to mold. He had to move out when he did the ceiling was still open and leaking

@peanutminicockapoo5759

Does Beal realize he looks like a cartoon character with that hair?

@Beautiful_Mess

Judge Simpson is a real one! Finally a voice for tenants against slumlords.

@bml2200

5 minutes in and you already know this landlord is screwed
