In the 80's i read a book that said we would terraform mars by 2000. We are no where near that, so this is very optimistic.

No matter how advanced the technology is and how convenient life becomes, what is most important for people is that they live in a peaceful era. If technological progress leads to a huge technological gap between different countries, it is likely to lead to war. Therefore, the future is not necessarily wonderful just because of its advanced technology.

You'd have to include various planetary disasters, pandemics, wars and other setbacks - if there is a singularity, it won't be available to everyone, no matter how inclusive it gets - there'll always be some that reject the dominant paradigm. This scenario completely leaves out the cussedness of things and the vagaries of human nature, otherwise called Murphy's Law.

I think this video is actually quite accurate with one exception, the timeline. Technology and emerging fields usually take much longer than anticipated to become integrated into society.

WAY too optimistic. It’ll be a wonder if we don’t destroy ourselves by 2040. And if AI’s really become sentient by 2050, how long will it be until the AI’s figure out that humans are the problem and the fictional movie “The Terminator” becomes reality?
