props for reiterating that benchmarks are not real life. yeah its an indication of max performance, but it isn't reflective of what people do with a machine.
your real world take is cool and refreshing. don't stop looking forward to more vids..
This matches my intended workflow, and I've been using the M4 MacBook Pro with 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. Essentially one up from base without mods. It is actually my first Mac, and everything I've thrown at it has been essentially flawless. I formatted and gave away the Windows laptop since I am now doing everything on the M4, and it is so much better in virtually every way. This thing is incredible and so well built.
I just got mine yesterday!! It’s my first ever MacBook Pro 😅 I’m so happy!’
3:22 Look at the reloading of the thumbs and waveforms. This will happen anytime you scroll or zoom the timeline. This is why video editor will want more than the base model M4. Would also probably want the nano textured screen with all the reflections your screen is showing.
Good vidieo thanks for giving us clarity
Thankyou so much for this real life review with these workloads! This was exactly what I was looking for! :)
I just bought a Macbook Pro (M4Pro 14 core) yesterday from the Apple Store in Burlington, Ontario...trust me...(go for education pricing..LOL!) Having come from 11 years from an old 2013 Intel Macbook?? which served me well this is definitely worth the upgrade. If you can afford it?? Go for it!! You will soooo NOT be disappointed.
Well, I was considering the pro for “future proofing” but after your video I think the M4 would be perfectly fine and I’d save myself £400. Great video thanks!
Very good video, I just bought Macbook Pro M4 with 16gb ram and 1TB SSD for 1900 euros, I'm going to use After Effects mainly, I hope I don't regret it but I'm still worried because there are almost no videos, whatever Macbook it is, showing the M chip performance in After Effects PS : O nome.. o sotaque... cheira-me a grândola vila morena ahahah
Most honest and realistic review to date. And I’ve seen plenty
Thank you for your intro about benchmarks vs actual real world use. Once a laptop reaches a good CPU threshold, other things need to be factored in. Software compatibility, OS stability, battery life, display quality, ports, port location, efficiency, keyboard comfort, and portability.
Thanks man! Im sold
What do you think for editing RED Raw 8K footage and Blackmagic 12K Raw footage ? Looking into computers . I own Red V Raptor and waiting on Blackmagic Pyxis 12K camera . M4 pro or M4 Max ?
M1 Macbook Air handled 4k workflows just fine, so why is your mind so blown and you are so speechless ? These are the most basic tasks any laptop can handle
How long does the battery typically last on an M4 Mac?
Actually my MacBook is always at its limit, That’s the reason I’m looking for an upgrade
Everyone wants new tech but nearly no one knows what to do with it. ...being "futureproof" is the only answer to this question 😅
Thx for the video. I wonder if it works as smoothly when using premiere pro instead of fcp? For simple cuts it work great but with plugins and other effects does base m4 still works great?
