@sadurnprod

What a great tutorial! Only have had to reset my printer 8 times because the IP address keeps changing and my Mac can't find the printer anymore! Oh - and thanks for making the manual so easy to read! Terms like WPS, DNS, IPv6, etc. are super simple to the average person! Great job, Canon, you've outdone yourselves once again!!

@justmad_dan

Prefect, steps 1:1 as described.
FYI:
Selected LBP6230dw for F166500 model and it works fine.
If you don't see your wifi make sure it's 2.4Hz b/c 5.0Hz is not supported

@vad637

Mac user here, OS Sonoma. About a couple of months ago (long after the Sonoma update, so not likely directly connected) my printer started falling off the WiFi network. I used to be able to "wake it up" by pulling up the printer tab. I'm technically-savvy and tried the wireless, wired, and Ethernet (cable to router) setups, with powercycling both the printer and the router, only to have it connect for a brief 5 minutes and then begin flashing blue again. I'm not sure if it's the printer modem frying up after years of use or something else, but I will likely be buying another printer.

@beshir0211

This was exactly what I needed. My setup was quick and easy. Thanks so much!

macOS trouble shooting:
1. When the wifi installation software exits unexpectedly, disconnect the cable and go through the wifi software again (without the printer connected) until you reach the screen where it would "searching for wireless access point" at 3:48. Here you connect the printer via usb and hit "refresh" to now start searching for it.
2. If the printer doesn't appear in the list of printers after you finished the wifi installation setup, restart your machine, connect the cable, go through the software once more and in the end DO NOT disconnect the cable. Just finish the wifi installation software (while the printer is still plugged in) and go into your macOS printer settings. Here you might see 2 printers. Select the one that says "bonjour" and add that one. Your done :)

@paolaallendez1213

@entertaining.universe

@freehomefinds7552

FINALLY. I spent 2 hours trying to set this up with my MacBook Big Sur. It works, but it won't print from Chrome 😞

@froggie7681

thank u so much!!

@georgeallenjr9394

I would never have purchased this model if I had known It was gonna be such a pain to set up. Why is everything else so easy to set up compared to this? I want to smash it with a big rock, just on principle.

@zo3j

There is no network setup tool on my mac after the installation. There is only a Documentation folder containing a useless installation html page. I can see the printer wirelessly only on the Macbook that has the driver installed, but other devices such as iPhone or another Mac can't see it on the network.

Without this setup tool, I can't seem to be able to access the printer from other devices.

@tamera1549

even though the test said it is setup correctly it is still saying offline:(

@JoseLuisTV1

this is so unreal, my printer shows is on the network but not my mac, can do it because my mac only have usb-cport so I have to use a adapter is there another way to connect the wireless 230dw into a mac???

@karlabueno1138

At 4:15 instead of saying "macOS wants to make changes", it says "NSU wants to make changes" and I'm not sure what username and password that's for. any help?????

@carltonchang3440

at 4:20 when it asks for the Administrator's name and password, what am I exactly suppose to put?

@ashmarlene612

hello- I am using a macbook air without usb drive, and using a converter to thunder cable. After plugging in to computer the printer is not showing up as an option to connect to (nothing is popping up) Hoping for a Canon Rep to offer some pointers before i throw things thing out the window (kidding/notkidding)-

@JoshChiam

i've done all the steps, but in the final step, after adding my printer, select software, my canon software is nowhere to be found! have tried multiple times the same steps but to the same problem . please help!

@julieparent193

what if you have a new mac that only has usbc ports? I've tried using my apple converter from usb to usbc and it won't recognize it.
