I bought a 2016 F150 at 50K miles when it was nearly 7 years old. It was great until it wasn’t … and by the time it presented the many issues it did, it had depreciated so much that I was stuck paying a loan for a payment I could’ve put towards a new vehicle that would’ve covered the drive train via warranty. In my experience, I’d never buy used again; buy new. Come prepared with a good down payment, negotiate a good APR and buy reliable vehicles. Not just the pretty ones. Your vehicle should last you 5 years maximum, but I would sell at 3 and get into another. Lease if you can. You’ll always have a payment but you’ll never be stuck with a bucket of issues that’s only perk is being “paid-off”. I’m 26. Hope this helps
I have a 2015 chrysler sedan limited with 4 cylinder with over 125,000 miles. Nothing wrong with it. It run does about 60 miles a day perfectly I just did basic recommeded maintaining. I can afford a new 1500 series truck but i see so many things wrong with them. Chevy and GM have cam lifter issues. Ford have turbo engines or wet belt in the 5.0L coyote engine. So, I will keep stacking my ROTH IRA and keep my old bluey sedan. I give it 2 more years with the new administration and see if i get a good air engine. Most of the enviromental regulations will be out. And good trucks will come back.
I can't believe the vehicles out there now. I get anxiety just thinking of what it would cost to own some of these vehicles 100k+ miles. i can barely afford my 4clynder sedan. can't wait to pay it off. save some money and buy and old old truck
For $20,000 more you can get a new one.
I’d never buy these minivan trucks. My 08 is rusty, has 210k on it, and it starts every time. In 10 years it’s only twice not started, a battery, and a starter. My wife’s 2020 with under 50k left us stranded more times.
