You should also mention the threaded shank on the drywall screw as opposed to the smooth shank on the deck screw. The threaded shank pulls both pieces down together simultaneously so it can leave a gap between them. The smooth shank spins freely in the upper piece while it’s being drawn down tightly against the bottom piece. I hope that I explained that clearly enough to make sense to you.

@byronewhite

Can we the deck screws on drywall also. I have a couple of projects and will be ordering Simpson strong tie collated screws. It would be nice to have just one screw for both jobs.

@deckerprairiewoodworks9826

Thanks for the tip. I'm like you I switched over to deck screws several months ago and I like them better.

EXCELLENT πŸ‘πŸ‘ 2 THUMBS UP

@buzzsah

I started using them when I did the addition

@swatisquantum

Just like you I went through the journey and found these screws through experience.. T20 small head self tapping screws have changed my life. Great for hiding inside wood (furniture, visible joints) where you can fill with wood filler. I do believe the t25 are stronger than t20 but can split wood because the heads are bigger

@kingdommusic5456

yep drywall screws will rust , rot and break off and if you have something fastened it will fall apart

@Khaztr

another thing to point out is that deck screws are much more weatherproof

@garrimic3

Any screw that is flat or phillip I refuse to use.

@finenebula

Thought this was B&Q..... but is B&O. Prepare to get sued. LOL

@d.sack2727

What size?
