I grew up between Lynn, MA & Beverly, MA and my most favorite part of that fact is being blessed by growing up surrounded by SO MUCH history! I've walked these trails numerous times and STILL manage to find some cool new fact every time I am able to do it again. This country was once something to be so incredibly proud of. ❤
when i was 7yrs old my mother and i walked it. That day in Boston was a fun adventure!
I grew up in Boston. Now I live in Asia. I’d visit my home every year and eat at Union Oyster House every time. It never gets old!
I ran Boston in 2009 and stayed to see so much. I’m going to qualify again and take the family back some 15 years later. It’s an amazing place to touch and see what you study.
Love this video. You spending time with your dad is priceless.
I grew up in a city next to Boston and have seen all the historic sites from my first trip to the U. S. S. Constitution in 1942 and every piece of history in and around Boston including Lexington and Concord. It was all part of growing up with all this history at your doorstep and you didn't have to go on a tour bus to see it, you lived in it and felt it during your everyday existence. My house was one mile from HARVARD COLLEGE and the great museums in Cambridge and Boston. One hours drive and you would be in Plymouth aboard the replica of the Mayflower that brought the pilgrims to the new world. What a great area to be born in.
I ate at the Union Oyster House when I was in Boston last year! The atmosphere was really neat, and the lobster roll I got was fantastic, but all things considered I probably wouldn't get it again. I remember the price more than the taste, lol. I did the taste test between Mike's and Modern too. Found I actually liked Mike's a bit better. I tried both of their regular cannoli and a specialty one from each, and there's a cannoli Mike's does that uses a florentine cookie for the shell--one of my favorite things I had on the trip.

Worked in Boston and had the opportunity to walk the trail, this is where America started!!
Suffolk University alumni here! So glad I found this video because I would walk this area every single day to go to class and yet I never knew any of these facts. Thank you for the education!
As a Californian with Bostonian relatives, I've walked this trail many times, and your video brought back many great memories. ❤️ And imagine my surprise walking into my local Smart & Final and seeing them selling Boston Chowda direct from Quincy Market! Amazing!!
I guess this popped up in my feed for the 4th of July...what a delight to tour Boston with you! Thank you for the great video!
Thanks for posting this video, I done the freedom trail late September while on holiday from Scotland, really enjoyed it. 🏴🇺🇲
This is a great tour that my daughter and I took about 6-7 years ago. One fun thing we added to the end of the trail was a ferry back to downtown Boston. It was fun and a great way to see the skyline from the water.
Great video! My wife and I were in Boston a couple months ago and we walked part of the Freedom Trail. We ate at the Union Oyster House and it was definitely worth it! I had the cheeseburger and she had the chicken Caesar salad. We both split an order of Boston baked beans. The food was excellent! The atmosphere was really cool too. It felt like we stepped back in time. We sat right across from the John F. Kennedy booth which was really cool too. I would definitely go back and definitely recommend.
I’m so excited to have found your videos! I’m about to embark on a New England trip and we are visiting the Kancamagus Hwy, Acadia NP, and the Freedom Trail and your videos have been so helpful! I only wish we were doing this in the fall so we could see the pretty leaves that you saw!
Great job going over the Freedom Trail! I grew up just east of where you ended at the Navy Yard....I'll let you guess where that is. Anyways, bummer you couldn't get on the USS Constitution...course you're both a bit tall for that ship....I haven't been on it since 1974, when my school took us for a class trip and even back then, at 7 years old...I was tall for the ship....today, I'd be doing lots of ducking. I've never done the full Freedom Trail in one shot...but I've been on all of it. The State House is worth a trip back if you like historic actually in use buildings. You're right about the October time frame to visit...I really miss the Fall here in Dallas. Ditched the New England snow over 25 years ago. Oh yeah, the clam chowder on Highway 1 is MUCH better than Boston Chowda. But there are loads of places for even better than Sam's or The Splash Cafe in the Boston area. Couple I'd recommend? The Barking Crab near the Seaport area, Legal Sea Foods, and over in Winthrop, Belle Isle Seafood. Lots more if you head other places, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
Boston is an amazing historical city. I used to live in Nashua, NH, about 45 miles from downtown Boston and I've been through that city and in most of those historic buildings and locations. I've eaten at Union Oyster House, delicious sea food there! And I've eaten cannolis at Mike's pastry. I would recommend visiting Boston as anyone's bucket list, especially if you are interested in history!
What an excellent, thorough summary of the Trail. This one, I've done. super job, as always👏👏
