@PremierPrep

Even as a DaVinci Resolve nut, I actually still think Lightworks is awesome and don't have an issue with their pricing structure as they still have an outright purchasing option. It's solid and fast and still a great option to see on Linux. Options are always welcome

@OwnedByWuigi

I can see Olive being like DaVinci if it had more funding. It has crazy potential.

Unrelated but I installed Debian on my laptop and I'm feeling great

@Purpbatboi

DaVinci not supporting h264 on linux without the studio license still very stupid

@tormaid42

Unfortunately no Linux desktop supports proper color management but I guess if you’re making YouTube videos or whatever that’s not too important.

@GoogleUser2311

Shotcut isn't bad, considering the fact it keeps on getting new features

@MR-S-S

DaVinci Resolve is supported only in Rocky Linux, old version. Still not suppoeted in newest Rocky. Keep the informations right.

@andreas-delarmy

Today was my first Arch Linux maintenance day! 🤩
Everything went well until I had to update my kernel.

First I got errors saying I was possibly missing firmware (I just ignored it 🤫) When I restarted my laptop the tty interface worked just fine until Gnome started up. My system bricked every time and I couldn't even switch to the other tty consoles.

I tried removing the config files and a lot of other online fixes, but nothing seemed to work...

At the end I fixed it by switching back to the normal kernel instead of the lts one, installing the right firmware for the kernel builder, and fully reinstalling and reconfiguring Gnome 👍

For now I'm probably going to stay on the rolling release kernel, but when the time's there I'll give the lts kernel another try 😁

@s1llysim0n

one thing to note here is, that resolve ONLY supports these formats in the PRO Version. This is because most popular codecs (like aac or mp4) cost money for licensing when using them

@ThePhenoix504FI3D1

I don't mind one time payment for extra features

It supports the development overall

@cringeylazy

i tried to get davinchi resolve working on mint with no luck

@deivedux9342

I believe that companies should only charge for features that actively costs them to maintain. It doesn't matter that I want to render in 4K, I'm the one rendering it, not the company, so to me that's a company that charges just for the sake of charging.

@haydenfogg7430

If you get it to install. It needs so many dependencies and some don’t even work
