What level of law enforcement is your favorite... Federal, State, or something Local? Let us know!

@kweinberg34

Further complicating things is whether your state calls itself a State, a Commonwealth or a Republic. Also, in some states, Sheriffs are primarily process servers at the county level. At the municipal level, a Sheriff is a Constable…

@djanaustin3047

I like how you break this subject down. It is confusing to a lot of people who aren’t in LE and this video does a great job explaining it is simple terms.

@SuitlandsStrongest09

Here in Washington DC, of course we have a lot of federal agencies. Like the Mint Police, DHS, etc… But surprisingly we have smaller agencies that help free up calls for service for the Metropolitan Police Department (DC’s Primary Police Agency). We have DC Protective Service’s. They handle most of DC’s government buildings like homeless shelters and parks. DC Public Library Police that handles all 26 Branch locations throughout the city (My Agency). Last but not least we have DC School Police, which handles all DC public schools in the city and they’re are too many to count. All local within local. Just thought I’d share that.

Im filipino when philippines was part of US territory.... US army official founded the police here called "constabulary" since 1901 until 1991 but that was not just civilian police, it was gendarmerie type police force or military type police duties both for civilian and military. Which means filipino constabulary considered not just police but also they were soldiers

@sidharthcs2110

Hi sir this is the reminder because of my small siren people become scared we should take action so before they do crime they will think 3 times

@nickmccarter2395

One thing that I'd like to mention is implied, but some people get wrong. These different levels of police do not "out rank" eachother. For example, an FBI agent cannot go to a Sheriif's deputy and tell them "You are coming with me to find a suspect in my case." They can ask and the deputy will most likely help as they are both fulfilling their responsibilities, but the agent cannot make them do it. Same goes for federal and sate or state and local.

That being said, a LEO from a higher level can take over the pursuit of a suspect from a lower level LEO, but that is because the crimes at those levels superceed the lower ones. Example: the Sheriff and his deputies have surrounded a building with a suspect of a local crime in it. The FBI comes and tells the Sheriff, "your suspect is wanted for federal crimes, so we'll take it from here." That can happen. However, the FBI cannot make the Sheriff help. THe Sheriff can then turn around and tell his deputies, "FBI says they got it boys. Lets go home." They won't, but they can.

Live in Hawaii. It’s very different. I live on the big island, and since it’s and island, there’s not that much cops out here. We only have our local police and our sheriff. It’s very different and their cars are very unique. If you live out here, I’m pretty sure your familiar with seeing a bunch of 4 runners with a blue box light on top. These cars are never marked. It’s very rare to see a marked police car. The cars we see everyday are 4 runners, hellcats, and challengers. You might be lucky to catch a marked explorer, crown Vic, sheriff chargers, or even a 2008 explorer. Rare cars to see are Durango’s, and tauruses. Hawaii is very different than the mainland. It’s kinda sad cool😎

@GabeFrag

Can we get an updated video for USMC Recon?

@Hittawatches

Much respect would like to see a Alaska State Trooper Video

@terminator1562

In canada, officer jursiticion is province wide. So technically a officer from one department can chase you around the whole province.
