I've recently discovered the joy of cooking for actually making good food...not just "cooking". There really IS a difference! Made this recipe today and have to agree with all the other posts: Delicious! You and your boys have become an inspiration to me. In fact, I stopped by my local carnicera, just this morning, and picked up some skirt steak. Carne Asade is next on my list of good food to create! I used the oven roasting technique for a full bird this week then made my own broth from the carcass. Better than store bought. Also added red pepper flakes during the simmering of the veggies.

I’m glad you mentioned the base / paste. That stuff rules and a million times better than that box broth. I’ll never use that box chicken broth again. That stuff smells like farts.
