A sketchbook is like a playground or a mad scientist laboratory. Or that’s how an artist should use it

@ditacynosurecoffee

Oh the affect of socmed and seeing how other people do their sketchbooks has inadvertently pressured ourselves to make out own just as good… It’s an easy habit to fall into, since having artists to admire means aspiring to go thru the same exercises as them— I keep falling for the same thoughts too! So it’s always nice to have a reminder that what and who your own sketchbook is for, and what YOU want to accomplish for yourself ☺️

@justanegg8478

Love the way she draws lizards

@diyproject2656

Yes the sketchbook. We all thought that it was for everyone to see but it's our own like a diary or journal that's personal for my eyes only with a little lock on it to keep others out. Play around in it draw what you can and can't and broaden your skills and draw your struggles and improve them. Its a mad house plus a place of elegance. Nourish it

@Nikitomate

My sketchbooks are a wild mix of really good artworks, shabby layout sketches, random quotes and songs and story ideas. My favorite sketchbook so far is from 2014 to 2016. So many ideas I rediscover right now!

@blacktornadow90

Crazy how such a simple concept took my years to find out… thank you.

@Anonymous_Eyeballs

This is real tho. I think a lot of people are scared to "mess up" their sketchbook but you can't mess up your sketchbook cuz that's what it's designed for. Break the rules, have fun, draw incomprehensible horrors, whatever. Just keep enjoying your hobby:)

@ImPinkKat

I was taught in highschool that sketchbook was for great final pieces all the time and it has been hard breaking outta that... So happy I have now

@BleachBasket108

Love all the cute derpy crested gecko sketches ❤

@NealMohanNoHam

That's some great and confident line work

@TheManWhoDraws

Yeahh, a sketchbook is an artist's notebook 💯

@mryeetusanims

I used to not care about being perfect, and now my friends ALWAYS want to see my drawings and now I rly want them to look good...

@PhoenixF-2048

Killua shirt definetly a good artist

@dilemmaart

I’ve only recently broke out of this box myself with my sketch books. Every artist should hear this. 💖

@sayusayme7729

Yes, I need to adopt this very practise so i is can get out of my perfectionist mindset. Thank you.

@olivethecat837

Man, I'm gonna have to try this
Also nice Killua shirt broski :3

@NaughtMax

Realizing your sketchbook doesn’t have to have a perfect piece on every page really helped me improve, I now draw a lot more and basically fill every page now

@CassidyTakanauf

Just seeing this only makes it harder for me to touch my sketchbook.

@Artomlet33

YES!!!
I’ve realized this within the past year and it’s been amazing for me!

@Audy-Bee

im finally getting to this too once i got a cheap sketchbook (that is surprisingly holding up well to what i use) and just draw whatever, good or bad and it feels great
