B12 helps me to stay calm and helps me deal with depressive flare-ups from having rapid cycling, treatment resistant bipolar spectrum disorder. I get an injection of B12 once a month as a maintenance dose because my body has problems absorbing nutrients from food (coeliac disease and lactose intolerance damaged my digestive system). If I miss the dose by even a few days I feel myself sliding into depression, losing ability to focus and not having energy and motivation.
