Very informative! Some people find it a bit difficult to give Chrome permission to use the cam/mic. On OSX I had to go into system preferences to allow Chrome to use the cam&mic. Once that hurdle is taken, Jitsi runs very smooth.

Thanks for the overview. I tried using the Share YouTube video feature. The video appeared in my Chrome Browser window, but didn't appear or be available for watching to others in the conference. Something I'm missing with this feature?

At work we use mostly zoom right now, but i would really like to switch to a free software, that values privacy. I think I'm going to try Jitsi for a few days. My only concern is, that jitsi doesn't have breakout rooms yet, which is one of the most important features in my opinion.

I'm new to Jitsi and dont exactly know how I get in touch with my interlocutor. How do I invite someone to join in the conversation? Is the room name once and for good the same or is it changed?

Thank you for an informative summary of the Jitsi VC application. Today I tested product, with limited success. The sound lag with a 1:1 conversation was very bad. The unfortunate aspect is that this is the key feature of the product.

Won't work with Safari. Seems to require Chrome so Google can steal my information.

Thanks. But I'm in a group right now,a school group we are all new to the app and I'm not sure if they can hear or see me, because I'm hearing and seeing others and I'm not sure they know. What is low bandwidth mode as well. I'm really confused about the app because I really just wanted to hear the class but now I'm not sure if they can hear everything going in my house as well
