The suspension fork is still better, it's WAYYY cheaper than a linkage fork, the linkage fork requires more maintenance.

On a rear of a full suspension bike having the rear move backwards is good because it’s supposed to move out of the way of obstacles but if you have it as a fork it will slow you down

This comparison didnt make any sense. The linkage fork is obviously set up softer and therefore was smoother on those bumbs. Linkage forks are less adjustable and heavy and ugly so no point in using it
